The world of video games has come a long way since the days of side-scrolling beat 'em ups, and superhero games have become a benchmark for this progress. New and diverse genres have played host to some of the most important characters across comic book history. A great example of this is the upcoming Marvel's Midnight Suns, which, thanks to Firaxis Games, has introduced the turn-based tension of XCOM to the Marvel Universe.

But as these Marvel heroes and supernatural forces of nature face off against the dangerous demonic might of Lilith, what iconic heroes are missing from the inventive and exciting game? Here are five heroes who would make perfect additions to Marvel's Midnight Suns.

Daredevil Is an Overlooked Hero Who Deserves a Chance

Daredevil takes down US Agent in Marvel Comics

Daredevil has been one of the few Marvel heroes to bridge the gap from tangible threats to the supernatural ones of the Marvel Universe. His dealings with The Hand prove that he can hold his own against enemies who use magic and demonic means. That said, he wasn't even a main choice for the initial lineup of Marvel's Midnight Suns, even though his skills in fighting sacred wars would be more than welcome. While there's no confirmation that he will join Midnight Suns, mentions of him in the game fuel the fires of fans hoping that this overlooked hero may soon have his time to shine.

Moon Knight's Abilities Make Him a Shoo-In for Midnight Suns

Like Daredevil, Moon Knight has always been a street-level vigilante. However, the big difference between these characters is that Moon Knight's story has always been tied to the supernatural. As he's an avatar for the Egyptian Moon God Khonshu, his abilities allow him an edge against all manner of enemies. With his strength and various resources, his abilities in Marvel's Midnight Suns would shine. He also has the ability to intimidate his enemies before he's even thrown a punch, making him a valuable addition to a player's team, as the fear he'd induce may give the team a competitive edge.

Iron Fist Would Bring a New Type of Mysticism to the Game

Marvel Comics Iron-Fist launches an attack

Iron Fist's skills as a martial artist and the fact that he mainly fights Earthbound villains would initially make him a strange addition to the roster. However, his powers are deeply rooted in mysticism and the channeling of his chi, enhanced by the heart of a dragon, which makes him the perfect antithesis of dark magic. Combatively speaking, Iron Fist's close-quarter combat abilities allow him to pack a massive punch, and he would be an agile but strong choice for players looking for a hero who deals major damage. His skills could also work against bosses with moves that allow him to pinpoint and exploit weak points.

Elsa Bloodstone Is the Perfect Hero to Hunt Demons

Elsa Bloodstone climbs over corpses in Marvel Comics

Marvel's Midnight Suns is a game deeply reliant on the demonic and dark magic of the Marvel Universe. As a result, the rise of monsters from these dark voids is not only likely but expected. With such monsters rising up to Earth, Elsa Bloodstone's addition to the game feels like a given. Her know-how in hunting monsters could teach other heroes how to hit harder and in the right spots, making certain foes fall faster. Her mid and long-range abilities would ensure that at least one hero would remain in the fight thanks to her powerful guns. Like Daredevil, Elsa Bloodstone is another circumstance where her arrival feels like a matter of when rather than if.

Werewolf By Night Is an Unconventional But Exciting Choice

Werewolf by Night snarling and sticking out his claw in Marvel comics

Werewolf By Night has recently gotten a lot of attention thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, showing audiences that he's more than just a monster. As a result, having a character who's so unpredictable could be an exciting addition to Midnight Suns. His addition would pit monsters against monsters, and it would also show that while strategy is often the main way to win, sometimes feral rage is necessary to eliminate multiple enemies at once while scaring them. Nevertheless, Werewolf By Night is perfect for the game, and adding him would be a great way to further bring the character into the spotlight.
