Firaxis Games' Midnight Suns is the next Marvel game to hit consoles and PC, bringing the comic book universe's more supernatural side to players everywhere. Uniting a customizable superhero named "The Hunter" with familiar Marvel heroes and villains, the game is a tactical RPG in the vein of the XCOM games from the same developer.

Given the comparisons many are making to Nintendo's Fire Emblem series, it's no surprise that the game is on the Nintendo Switch, in addition to launching for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows. The game will be released in December, but the requirements for the PC version have already been revealed. For PC gamers looking to take the fight to Marvel's Lilith, here's what they'll need to run Marvel's Midnight Suns.

Midnight Suns' CPU Requirements

The recommended CPU needed to run Midnight Suns is an Intel Core i7-6700, while the minimum requirement is a mere Intel Core i5-4430. This is actually pretty low in terms of tech necessities, as the i7-6700 was first rolled out in 2015. Thus, gamers with even the practically ancient i5 should have no problem running the game, which explains why it's also releasing on the fairly low-tech Nintendo Switch. This is, however, a bit of a step up in processing power compared to another Marvel port.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales had a minimum requirement of an Intel Core i3-4160, which is even older and weaker than the i5. That game, like Midnight Suns, was released for the PS5, though it was also a launch title for the now two-year-old system. Given that the new game is more geared toward the processing of current-generation gaming consoles, it's no surprise that it takes a bit more to get the most out of it.

Midnight Suns' GPU Requirements

The minimum GPU needed for Midnight Suns is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or an AMD Radeon RX 470, with the 1070 and 5700 versions of these models necessary for playing the game at maximum capacity. These specs are similar to those needed for A Plague Tale: Requiem. In the case of the Radeon RX 5700, it's a lower-end model from AMD that was first released in 2019, so most newer computers optimized for gaming should have it or something similar.

At the same time, those with slightly older or weaker hardware might not have graphics cards at this level, leaving the more advanced settings of Midnight Suns out of the quest. The cards themselves are incredibly expensive to purchase on their own, so those looking to drop some cash to play the game on PC might look into getting a new computer entirely.

Midnight Suns' RAM and Storage Requirements

Midnight Suns requires a minimum of 8GB to run in its lower settings, with higher settings bringing this up to 16GB. This is actually lower than Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which needed up to 32GB at its greatest settings. Like most modern games, however, it comes at the cost of huge storage requirements, with Midnight Suns needing 60GB of free space. Most gaming laptops will have nearly 1TB of space, with separate hard drives bolstering these limitations. Therefore, anyone who already games quite a bit on their PC should be able to run and fit Midnight Suns into their computer, with most being able to easily take the game to its highest capabilities.
