Marvel's Midnight Suns will reportedly revel in the 'memeable' side of the notorious Living Vampire, Morbius.

According to AusGamers, Firaxis Games' creative director Jacob Solomon revealed his take on Morbius will take inspiration from previous comic book media. When specifically asked if Sony's Morbius film adaptation will influence their take on the Living Vampire, Solomon answered, "Well, no. But I will tell you we would always talk about this moment. Morbius, especially in [the] Rise of the Midnight Sons comic, is amazing. The Rise of the Midnight Sons event happens over six comics, and one of them is a Morbius-named comic. And the crazy thing is in Morbius' Midnight Sons comic, he's still wearing his old Spider-Man deep-V, I shouldn't say cheesy, but his "whatever" Spider-Man outfit."

Solomon further recounted Morbius' other memorable exploits, with the director pointing out the eccentric style of the character's comic book counterpart. He specifically mentioned a scene wherein the Living Vampire took the time to make a detour to a high-end clothing shop in New York City after he realized the world was in danger. "He gets a strapped leather look, which is so awesome and I just remember as a kid being like, 'Oh, my God. Morbius is actually pretty cool,'" Solomon said. "But then I'm like, 'Why did he do this in the middle of this whole thing?' He was like, 'I need to go down to New York City and I need to get this new look from Fifth Avenue.' And he comes out in this cool leather outfit."

The director admitted Morbius "always had a 'memeable' side to him," but also stated that his strangeness was what drew fans into his story. Though Morbius won't be one of the 13 playable characters included in the base game's hero roster, Solomon additionally revealed the creators decided to include the Living Vampire as a DLC character as an homage to his status as one of the founding members of the Midnight Sons.

Morbius will join Marvel's Midnight Suns as part of a series of post-launch DLC heroes, which will also include Venom, Storm and Deadpool. Solomon previously claimed each DLC hero will come with their own unique storyline. He additionally revealed the DLC characters will be immediately playable upon purchase, with the director hinting that the four post-launch heroes will be just as accessible as other characters from the base game.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is scheduled for release on Dec. 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch are expected to launch sometime in 2023.
