The debate over the fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Infinity Stones continues, with the latest theory coming from Marvel Entertainment.

To celebrate the arrival of Avengers: Infinity War on Disney+, Marvel posted a series of short videos on its Instagram highlighting the six stones. The upper left side of each video recaps the status on each stone and seems to confirm that all six were destroyed.

The post contradicts earlier statements made by Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo. "Thanos only reduced the stones to the atomic level," they said back in May 2019. "The stones are still present in the universe." Furthermore, these videos only refer to the stones in the present MCU timeline. The stones of the past still exist thanks to Captain America returning them to their proper times at the end of Endgame.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin. The film is available on Digital HD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD and is streaming on Disney+.
