The Matrix Resurrections star Keanu Reeves discussed his potential future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even though he hasn't settled on a role.

In an interview with the Phase Zero podcast, Reeves confirmed that he's had a meeting with Marvel Studios President and Marvel CCO Kevin Feige. "We have met," Reeves answered, "and he's a cool cat." When asked if the pair had discussed a character for Reeves to bring to life in the MCU, Reeves said, "we don't have it yet. Got to find something."

This isn't the first time Reeves has shown an interest in joining the MCU. "It would be an honor," he recently said of the idea. "There are some really amazing directors and visionaries, and they're doing something no one's really ever done. It's special in that sense, in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. It would be cool to be a part of that," he continued.

While Marvel fans may have to hold out hope that Reeves eventually joins the MCU, they can still catch him in The Matrix Resurrections. The actor recently revealed how one of the movie's most jaw-dropping scenes was done practically and without CGI. "[Co-star, Carrie-Anne Moss] and I grabbed hands and we leapt off a building," Reeves explained. They also didn't just jump from a building of "around 46 stories" once, either. Reeves recalled, "Well, we wanted to do it in the perfect light, in the morning, and so we did it, I would say, around 19 to 20 times over the course of two days."

Jessica Henwick, who also stars in The Matrix Resurrections as newcomer Bugs, recently spoke about the thrill of seeing Reeves and Moss back on screen in the movie. The last time Neo and Trinity, played by Reeves and Moss respectively, were seen together was in 2003's The Matrix Revolutions. "It's a trip," Henwick said. "It's the nostalgia and seeing Keanu and Carrie-Anne on screen, it's magical to see these two absolute Hollywood heavyweights returning to the characters that made them famous. As a fan, I loved it."

Fans of The Matrix can enter its world themselves with The Matrix Awakens tech demo. Rendered in Unreal Engine 5, the game has a fully explorable world and blends gameplay and cinematics with a surprising amount of depth and realism. The story of The Matrix Awakens was written by Resurrections director Lana Wachowski, who said she "had a blast making this demo."

The Matrix Resurrections premieres in theaters and on HBO Max Dec. 22.
