Hasbro revealed a new version of Venom for its Marvel Legends toy line based on the character's appearance in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series, complete with packaging reminiscent of the cartoon's original action figures.

Like all entrants in Hasbro's Marvel Legends line, Venom is a premium figure with multiple points of articulation. His likeness and packaging design greatly resemble the original Venom action figure produced in 1994 by the now-defunct company Toy Biz, which held the master toy license for Marvel products until 2006, when Hasbro purchased it.

Venom appeared in multiple episodes of the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon, and his comic origin as a symbiote bonding to Daily Bugle journalist Eddie Brock was adapted in "The Alien Costume," a three-part storyline in Season 1. Venom was also the last character who appeared before the show's logo in its title sequence.

Retailing for $31.99, the six-inch figure will officially debut at Hasbro's virtual 2021 PulseCon, which will kick off in the fall. Exact dates for the convention have yet to be announced, but the throwback Venom figure may be available for purchase by the time Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the sequel to the 2018 Venom film starring Tom Hardy, hits theaters.
