Marvel Legacy Comics Details Announced

Updated July 12 with additional titles and details.

Following the release of teasers and storyline titles for the opening volley of its Marvel Legacy, last week Marvel began the rollout of the significant details -- creators, covers and solicitation text -- of the first issues of the sprawling initiative.

Everything kicks off in September with Marvel Legacy #1, a 50-page one-shot from writer Jason Aaron and artist Esad Ribic that promises to tell the "startling origin of the Marvel Universe," and underscore how "it's all connected." The issue will also introduce the Avengers of 1,000,000 B.C.

Although the title of the arc, as well as one of its covers, references The Death of Captain Marvel, writer Jason Aaron isn't saying how much influence the 1982 graphic novel has on The Mighty Thor. “That’s obviously a powerful book and a huge part of Marvel history, but I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait to see whether or not our story shares anything with that one,” he told Nerdist. “I will just say that I’ve always been telling a very specific story with Jane, and I’ve known for a while where that was headed.”
