2019 has been a banner year for Black Widow, as Marvel's greatest spy played a pivotal role in Avengers: Endgame and production is about to begin on her own solo film. To celebrate Natasha's move into the spotlight, Marvel Comics is launching a new comic book series starring the character, bringing her back to her espionage roots.

Starting this September, The Web of Black Widow, written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Stephen Mooney, will see Natasha Romanov confront her illicit past as she goes off the grid to confront a shadowy figure using knowledge of her history to nefarious ends. A great introduction to new readers and an thrilling confirmation to fans in the know why Black Widow is one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the new series finds a mysterious figure exploiting the hero's past. And in response, the Widow may have to go off the grid.

The character received a relaunched series at the beginning of the year that saw Natasha return to the fictional nation of Madripoor, crossing paths with several familiar villains. With the upcoming series, it looks like this time Black Widow will be contending with her past once again.

The Web of Black Widow #1 is written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Stephen Mooney. It is scheduled to go on sale this September by Marvel Comics.
