If audiences leaving screenings Thor: Ragnarok next week hoping to see more of Korg and Miek -- and early reactions indicate they will -- they should rest assured that Marvel Studios isn't finished with the breakout characters.
Fans were already introduced to Korg, played by director Taika Waititi, in a recent clip, in which he questioned fellow gladiator Thor's relationship with his enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, offering a taste of what role the rocky Kronan will play in the film. Like Miek, an insectoid native to the savage world of Sakaar, Korg debuted in Marvel Comics' fan-favorite "Planet Hulk" storyline, among the inspirations for Thor: Ragnarok.
“We have plans for Korg and Miek,” Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Fandango. “When and where we'll have to wait and see, but we, like the audience now that they've seen them, can't get enough.”
Come to think of it, that's probably at least a minor spoiler for Thor: Ragnarok, as it indicates that Korg and Miek survive the film. However, it doesn't offer any clues as to what Marvel might have in mind for the pair.
Arriving Nov. 3, director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
