Marvel Comics has provided a first look at Juggernaut #1 from the creative team of Fabian Nicieza and Ron Garney. The series follows a reborn Cain Marko as he attempts to find his place in the world.

Released on Marvel's official website, the pages showcase the Juggernaut emerging from a mass of rubble, helping to clean up New York City after the War of the Realms. Suddenly, a teenager shows up and uses waves of force to push the Juggernaut back, yelling at him to stop interfering with her home.

This new character is named D-Cel, and her powers are meant to be the opposite of Marko's. Nicieza described her as the "catalyst" for Marko's new life. He also described Cain as trying to find his purpose, especially now that the X-Men have formed their own paradise.

"After years of back and forth and madness and sadness, he had become a member in good standing of the X-Men, and then while he's away dancing in Limbo, mutantkind gets everything they could have ever hoped for... and Cain can't be a part of that," said Nicieza. "How he reacts to that rejection becomes the exploration of who he is going to become without the one thing that -- for good and bad -- has defined him for most of his life."

Juggernaut #1 goes on sale Sept. 23 from Marvel Comics.
