Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding delivered a stunning Iron Man tribute to celebrate Robert Downey Jr.s' 55th Birthday.

Sharing his work on Instagram, Meinerding explained how he drew the poster for 2019's D23 to honor Iron Man following the shocking events of Avengers: Endgame. The artist wrote, "Happy Belated Birthday to Robert Downey Jr.! I missed it yesterday! I’ve had the honor and joy to paint Robert since Iron Man, and was lucky enough to do this 'I love you 3000' poster looking back at some of his big MCU moments for D23 2019."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe owes a lot to Downey Jr., who became the de facto lead of the franchise following his debut in 2008's Iron Man. As well as starring in three Iron Man movies, he also had major roles in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming and all four Avengers movies. Now, fans can relive his entire journey through Meinerding's artwork.

In addition to such iconic imagery as Tony Stark spreading his open arms wide from Iron Man's opening scene, there's also the Monoco Grand Prix fight from Iron Man 2, the Avengers: Age of Ulton Hulkbuster scene and his face-off with Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War. Front and center, though, Meinderding highlighted Stark's swansong with Downey Jr.'s likeness wearing the Infinity Gauntlet.

Although Tony Stark is dead in the MCU following his dramatic "I am Iron Man" sacrifice in Endgame, the character is rumored to appear in Black Widow and Downey Jr. said he'd be willing to return in the future. For the time being, though, fans can remember his best MCU moments through Meinderding's poster.
