Marvel's Hit-Monkey adaptation on Hulu is no longer in limbo, as the animated series has an official release date -- along with a first look.

As part of its preview of upcoming fall TV shows, Entertainment Weekly casually confirmed that Marvel's Hit-Monkey is not only a go but it's coming on Nov. 17 to Hulu. The long-in-development series has been relatively quiet since it was first announced as part of a suite of adult animated shows for Hulu, but fans can now expect it soon. Along with the release date, Hulu shared the first image from the show, featuring the titular assassin and his incorporeal sidekick. Check it out:

According to the outlet, the show will follow a Japanese snow macaque who comes across a wounded hitman named Bryce. Though the future Hit-Monkey tries to nurse the agent, voiced by Jason Sudeikis, back to health, he ultimately dies. This sets the monkey on a mission of revenge, which will turn him into the iconic and absurd Marvel character.

The series is created by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, known for Office Christmas PartyBlades of Glory, and the short-lived Cavemen TV show based on the Geico commercials. It was originally part of a group of animated shows that were meant to tie together with a team-up series called The Offenders.

In 2019, Marvel TV announced the four animated series that would come to Hulu: Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K., Tigra & Dazzler, and Hit-Monkey. Big names like Patton Oswalt, Chelsea Handler, and Kevin Smith boarded the individual projects, but Marvel TV was ultimately shuttered with the birth of Disney+ and the effort to bring the MCU to television.

The deal also saw a planned Ghost Rider series focusing on Robbie Reyes canceled, but a few projects made it to air. One was the live-action Helstrom, which ultimately had no real ties to Marvel when its single season arrived. The opposite was true for M.O.D.O.K., which Marvel heavily promoted when it debuted earlier this year to acclaim.

Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler were canceled in early 2020, but little was known about the fate of Hit-Monkey until M.O.D.O.K. creator Jordan Blum revealed earlier this year that he had seen some of the finished series, saying it looked incredible. Now, Marvel fans will get to judge for themselves.

Hit-Monkey arrives Nov. 17 on Hulu.
