The Marvel Comics Universe is full of different kinds of superheroes. There are super-soldiers, gods, mutants, cosmic guardians, normal people who just want to do right, and powerful magic-wielders. Power doesn't just come from a single place in Marvel, and not all versions of power play by the same rules.
This last point is illustrated best by the community of heroic sorcerers, wizards, witches, and shamans that exist in Marvel. Different kinds of magic don't always play by the same rules. Magic can come from gods, alternate dimensions, genetics, and even the fabric of the cosmos itself. There are several kinds of magic in Marvel, and each one grants different kinds of power to its wielders.
10 Talisman Is A Canadian First Nations Hero With A Coronet Of Power
Talisman, aka Elizabeth Twoyoungmen, is the daughter of Alpha Flight member, Shaman, and a member of Alpha Flight as well. She wields the Coronet of Power and can channel powerful magical energy with that artifact. Without it, she is still a talented sorcerer to be reckoned with, but she is at her peak strength while wielding the Coronet.
Talisman has had a rocky relationship with her father, but they have been able to mend most of their mutual wounds. Elizabeth first appeared in Alpha Flight #5 in 1983 and was created by John Byrne.
9 Satana Is The Daughter Of Satan And A Magician Of Flexible Morals
Satana is the daughter of Satan and the sister of Daimon Hellstrom. Sorcery runs through her veins, and she can perform powerful hell magic as well as an innate ability to entrance and control men.
She is usually on the side of good, working with the Thunderbolts, Avengers, Spirits of Vengeance, and the Legion of Monsters in the past. However, she has been shown to be a troublemaker when the mood strikes her.
8 Amora The Enchantress Is A Self-Taught Master Of Magic
Amora the Enchantress is an Asgardian sorceress and a frequent foe of the Mighty Thor. She has often worked alongside Skurge the Executioner, and, like Satana, is quite adept at controlling and manipulating men. As an Asgardian, Amora is physically stronger and more durable than a mortal human, but she rarely resorts to physical combat. She much prefers to rely on her mastery of magic.
7 Wiccan Is The Young Avenger Who Can Wish Things Into Being
Wiccan is the reincarnation of Billy Maximoff, the short-lived conjured son of the Scarlet Witch. Wiccan, aka Billy Kaplan, Asgardian, and Demiurge, was a founding member of the Young Avengers, though he also spent time as part of Sunspot's A.I.M. Avengers. Billy's magic could be described as "wish-casting," as he just repeats what he wants to happen as a spell and it will come into being. However, he can't use the same phrase as a spell more than once. He is currently married to Teddy Altman, aka Hulking/Emperor Dorrek VIII of the united Kree/Skrull Empire.
6 Loki Is The God Of Mischief And A Powerful Sorcerer
Loki Laufeyson, son of the Jotun Laufey and the adopted son of Odin and Freyja, possesses great strength and durability as an immortal Jotun. However, like Amora, Loki prefers to rely on his tricks, mischief, and magic to get by. He has plagued both Asgard and his brother Thor countless times over the years. He also accidentally helped create the Avengers during one of his earlier escapades on Midgard. Loki died at the Siege of Asgard but has been survived by a copy of himself that has a shard of his soul inside it. This copy was formerly known as Ikol but has adopted the name of Loki. This Loki has sought to change his ways and escape the cycle that captured the previous Loki. He also briefly replaced Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme.
5 Magik Is A Member Of The X-Men Whose Powers Connect Her To The Mystical Realm Of Limbo
Magik, aka Illyana Rasputin, is the sister of Colossus from the X-Men. Her mutant genetics connect her to the underworld realm of Limbo over which she has dominion. This gives her immense demonic magical power as well as her trademark Soulsword. She can summon spells and even demons from Limbo to do her bidding, and this has corrupted her in the past, turning her against her allies in the X-Men and New Mutants as the Darkchylde. In Doctor Strange: The End by Leah Williams and Filipe Andrade, it was posited that Magik is destined to become the next Sorcerer Supreme.
4 Daimon Hellstrom Is The Son Of Satan And A Deadly Wizard
Daimon Hellstrom, aka Hellstorm, is the son of Satan and brother of Satana Hellstrom. Like his sister, he draws his power from Hell and performs powerful demonic spells. He initially sought to spurn his father's legacy and became a stalwart hero. He spent a lot of time on the Defenders and even married fellow Defender Hellcat. However, Daimon's stoic heroism began to decline, and his hellish heritage caused much trauma for the unfortunate Hellcat. They eventually divorced, and Hellstrom has spent time as both hero and villain in more recent years.
3 Scarlet Witch Is A Powerful Sorceress Who Gained Power From Her Genetics
Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff, is the reality-warping sorceress who has spent time as an Avenger but made her debut as part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants led by Magneto. She and her brother, Quicksilver, were recruited into the Avengers by Captain America during their quest for redemption. However, Wanda's powers have grown immensely in the intervening years, causing her to lose control and ultimately destroy the Avengers and bring mutants to the brink of extinction.
Yet, she has since sought to control her powers and do right by those she has wronged. Her magical powers were once thought to be due to her mutant genetics, but it has since been alleged that they were actually bestowed upon her by the High Evolutionary.
2 Doctor Voodoo Draws His Power From The Haitian Loa
Jericho Drumm was once a talented doctor who was called to take over the role of Houngan after his brother, Daniel the former Houngan, perished. Jericho became a talented and powerful Houngan, which is a Haitian sorcerer who draws power from the otherworldly Loa. Jericho took the name of Brother Voodoo. Years later, after Doctor Strange lost the title of Sorcerer Supreme, it was given to Jericho who then took the name Doctor Voodoo. Since then, Jericho has been a frequent member and ally of the Avengers, even after Strange became the Sorcerer Supreme yet again.

Doctor Strange is the eponymous Master of the Mystic Arts and Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. He gained his talent for magic after his hands were broken and he could no longer perform surgery. He sought guidance at Kamar-Taj and its grandmaster, the Ancient One. He has since then used the Eye of Agamatto, the Cloak of Levitation, the Book of Vishanti, and other mystical artifacts to become the most powerful sorcerer in history. He co-founded the Defenders and has spent time among the Avengers. He has lost the title of Sorcerer Supreme on two occasions but regained the position both times. He's also spent time among the clandestine superhero group known as the Illuminati.
