The Elongated Man has recently risen to prominence within the DC Universe once again thanks to his appearance in the Arrowverse. While he's not normally considered to be the most powerful character, there's plenty of heroes and villains he can defeat.
While he may fare pretty well in the DC Universe, there's a number of heroes in the Marvel Universe who he has of course never faced off against. Here's 5 of those heroes he could absolutely beat and 5 he may struggle to fight against.
10 Can't: Black Panther
The Black Panther is an incredibly versatile warrior, with a lot of resources stored up ready to face new threats. The Black Panther has better training that Elongated Man and quite frankly is just stronger and tougher.
What's worse is those vibranium claws which might actually be able to cut through Elongated Man's skin, no matter how rubbery he gets. That's what creates even more of a dangerous situation, as Ralph Dibny might not be agile enough to dodge his fast attacks.
9 Can: Spider-Man
Spider-Man could probably put up a good fight with his increased strength, durability and of course his web shooters. However, he's never really faced a threat quite like this before, which might mean he struggles in the battle.
He's just as acrobatic as Elongated Man, but can sometimes be caught off guard by new attacks. He loves to be prepared when going into a fight, but since this enemy is unexpected he might not be fast enough to come out victorious.
8 Can't: Rogue
It may be a little obvious as to why Ralph wouldn't be able to defeat Rogue, but her abilities means that she may be able to drain him of his power. One touch and he could be completely weak with Rogue taking on his abilities.
The Elongated Man is most effective when he is up close, which is why he has no chance in this fight. Sooner or later the gloves will come off and Ralph will be down and out. It's probably one of the quickest battles on this list.
7 Can: Iron Man
Iron Man isn't the best fighter and relies on his technology a lot to get by. But when Ralph can actually absorb some of the weapons that Tony would be using, it leaves very little else for Stark to go into battle with.
Not only does this disarm him in some capacity, but his fighting style is also based on his technology. He can use the suit to predict the moves of his opponent, but because Elongated Man is so unpredictable in his movements, even this would be useless!
6 Can't: Human Torch
Ralph sometimes struggles when facing extreme temperatures. Due to his skin being a little rubbery, the fire of the Human Torch may be able to impact how far he can stretch and even damage him in some way.
It's probably for the best that Elongated Man avoids fighting him altogether as the affect that Johnny could have on Ralph might even be permanent. This is a fight that we think Dibny should not pick under any circumstances!
5 Can: Black Widow
One of the most gifted assassins in all of the Marvel Universe might not be able to take this kill shot. Since Black Widow often relies on guns, which has no effect on Elongated Man, she might find herself in a difficult situation.
Her stingers might actually be able to work for a bit, although the rubbery nature of his skin could also insulate these blasts too. Unfortunately, despite having far more skill, Black Widow might just not be able to match up to his bizarre abilities.
4 Can't: Doctor Strange
The Sorcerer Supreme has a spell for just about anything and unfortunately for Ralph, he really isn't well versed in the mythical side of either the DC or the Marvel universe. He therefore wouldn't be able to match up to the fight here.
Doctor Strange has managed to defeat some of the most lethal villains in the whole of existence, so Elongated Man will be a normal Tuesday for him. Add to that the fact that he would have knowledge of how to fight him from Mr Fantastic and there's a clear winner here.
3 Can: Captain America
The star spangled man might be a little out of his depth with this fight. While he is a master tactician when it comes to one on one combat, Cap is at his best when he's up against an enemy that plays by the same rules that he does.
He does have one weapon that could help him though. His shield might actually be able to slice Elongated Man, however, he would never use this as a first resort which might weaken him in the fight. Ultimately, Ralph might get the surprise victory here.
2 Can't: Captain Marvel
The Captain on this list that Elongated Man won't be able to defeat is Carol Danvers. It's really her energy projection that will come in most handy, as much like with the Human Torch, she may be able to focus so much power on Ralph that it weakens him.
Her exceptional strength can also play a large part, as can her flight and speed. All of these elements combined, along with her tactical mind, makes her one of the most genuine threats on this list.
1 Can: Thor
Thor is probably one of the strongest heroes on this list, but he's not exactly one of the smartest. Despite having the mighty Mjolnir by his side, he may aimlessly swing at Ralph to no effect.
His lightening powers may also be a dud if they react with Dibny the same way they would with normal rubber. Despite all his strength and power Thor could actually be out manoeuvred in this battle.
