Darkseid is one of the greatest villains in comics. Not only is he superlatively powerful, but what he represents sets him apart from similar villains. Thanos is just about suffering and death; Darkseid desires control of all things. This impulse is something everyone understands, and it makes his threat that much more insidious. His physical brutality is casual, merely an afterthought, but his mental brutality is so much worse.

Marvel's heroes have faced down some powerful foes over the years, but Darkseid would be a grave challenge for entire teams of them. However, there are some heroes who would be capable of ending his menace on their own.

10 Legion's Multitude Of Powers Basically Make Him A God

a team of Xmen burst from a portal

Legion was once one of the most dangerous X-Men villains, Xavier's son with Dissociative Identity Disorder who had as many powers as he had alters. He's taken a one-eighty in recent years and is more heroic than ever, working with Nightcrawler on Krakoa. Legion's powers are manifold and have allowed him to travel through time and control the building blocks of reality, which would definitely be helpful against Darkseid.

Darkseid is notoriously hard to hurt, but Legion has power the likes of which Darkseid's rarely faced. Legion's threat to Darkseid is great enough that the young mutant would be able to fight him and perhaps even destroy him.

9 Synch Could Use Darkseid's Powers Against Him

synch feature

Synch's mutant powers allow him to take on the powers of anyone around him, which would serve him well against Darkseid. For years, Synch could only use other mutants' powers, but that's since expanded, making him a much bigger threat against Darkseid than any other X-Man. Even though Darkseid is a god, there's no reason Synch couldn't copy his powers as well.

Darkseid isn't used to fair fights. While he knows more about his powers than Synch does, the young mutant is resourceful and experienced. This would give him the advantage he needs to win against the God of Evil.

8 Captain Universe's Powers Are More Than A Match For Darkseid

Captain Universe during her time with the Avengers

One of the mightiest unsung forces in the Marvel Universe is the Uni-Power. It gives its users amazing cosmic powers, transforming them into Captain Universe. This force has been wielded by many heroes, some well known, like Spider-Man, and some brand new. One of the greatest hosts for the Uni-Power was Tamara Devoux, who joined the Avengers as a new Captain Universe.

Devoux was easily one of the most powerful of the various Captains Universes and would take down Darkseid. She was basically the Universe itself, and her powers allowed her to do anything. Darkseid would covet her power, but there would be nothing he could do against it.

7 The Hulk's Infinite Potential Would Let Him Beat Darkseid

Marvel Comics' Hulk bursting with muscles and gamma energy

Fighting the Hulk is always a huge mistake, and Darkseid would learn that first hand. The Hulk's strength and durability have no upper limits, and it's guaranteed that Darkseid would underestimate the Green Goliath. There's a chance that the Omega Effect would take Hulk down when he wasn't extremely angry, but Darkseid wouldn't use it soon enough.

Darkseid would want to take Hulk as his own, which would be a huge mistake. The Hulk is almost impossible to mentally dominate, and trying only makes him madder. That's going to make him stronger, and that's when the problem begins. Darkseid is definitely stronger than Hulk at a base level, but as the fight goes on, Hulk gets more powerful and he would eventually defeat the God of Evil.

6 Cosmic Ghost Rider's Powers Give Him Too Much Of An Advantage

Frank Castle is the Cosmic Ghost Rider

Cosmic Ghost Rider is one of the most powerful beings ever. He's an alternate future Frank Castle with the power of the Ghost Rider and the Power Cosmic, which makes him pretty much unstoppable. The combination of power and years of working with Thanos drove Cosmic Ghost Rider insane, which will be a big help against Darkseid.

While he's not a god, Cosmic Ghost Rider might as well be. It's hard to imagine anything that can hurt him. He's a being unlike anything that Darkseid has ever faced, and that's going to allow Cosmic Ghost Rider to take the win.

5 Doctor Strange Is Smart Enough To Take Down Darkseid

Seven Suns of Cinnibus

Doctor Strange is the most skilled sorcerer on the planet and has tackled all kinds of deadly, all-powerful threats in his career. Doctor Strange's magic is great, but he wins with his intelligence just as much as his power. He has outsmarted elder gods and unknowably ancient beings. Darkseid is crafty, but Doctor Strange has dealt with his lot before.

Strange is smart enough not to go at Darkseid without being prepared. He can spy on the God of Evil with his astral form, figure out the best spells to use, and unleash them upon Darkseid. Even if things don't go like he planned, he's good at thinking on the fly, and that would let him beat Darkseid.

4 Black Bolt's Power Would Destroy Darkseid

Marvel Black Bolt Cropped

Black Bolt is the total package. He's an intelligent monarch, a master of tactics, and his voice is devastatingly powerful. He can control electrons, has vast super strength, and his flight makes him extremely mobile.

Darkseid is Bolt's superior in many ways, but that doesn't mean he's going to beat the Inhuman monarch. Black Bolt rarely cuts loose, but he'd make an exception for Darkseid. Black Bolt can level mountains with a whisper. Even Darkseid would fall to the Inhuman's might eventually.

3 Thor Has Dealt With Beings Like Darkseid Before

Thor flying through space

Thor has faced down some of the most dangerous beings in the Marvel Universe. He's a powerful and skilled hero, and he finds a way to win even when he's facing someone more powerful than himself. He's destroyed Galactus, beaten Celestials, and battled gods and monsters of all kinds. Darkseid is definitely the more powerful god, but Thor could take him.

Thor always finds a way to win. He's a fierce combatant who can overcome beings who outclass him with his sheer pigheadedness. The Omega Effect doesn't always work against powerful foes, which takes away Darkseid's easiest way of dealing with Thor. In a one-on-one fight, Thor is much more skilled, and that's going to make a difference.

2 Hyperion Is Marvel's Superman

Marvel Comics' Hyperion from the Squadron Supreme

Superman is one of Darkseid's greatest foes. Marvel has several Superman analogs, and the most powerful is Hyperion. There have been several versions of Hyperion over the years, but the most formidable is the one who joined the Avengers and helped them battle against threats like Thanos and the Beyonders. That Hyperion would be able to defeat Darkseid.

Hyperion's power is even greater than Thor's, and he's just as skilled a fighter. Darkseid has always found Superman to be a big challenge, and Hyperion is much more brutal than his DC counterpart. This would give him what he needs to beat Darkseid.

1 Darkseid Would Be Overwhelmed By Silver Surfer

Marvel Comics' Silver Surfer flying into battle

Silver Surfer is one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe. His mastery of the Power Cosmic makes him formidable and has allowed him to beat all kinds of powerful beings. He's one of the purest heroes around, and his power and speed make him a devastating foe. He's faced down enemies that are Darkseid's equals plenty of times, and he would overwhelm the God of Evil.

Silver Surfer's power and skill would let him beat Darkseid. Silver Surfer is almost impossible to hurt, so one can see him tanking the Omega Effect or outrunning it. He's a mobile, powerful hero, which would give him what he needs to win the battle.
