Disney Channel has greenlit Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, which will focus on the titular heroes.
The announcement was made by series producer Laurence Fishburne at D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Fishburne and Helen Sugland's Cinema Gypsy Productions will produce alongside Steve Loter.
"As an avid comic book fan, I am thrilled to be involved with Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur," Fishburne said. "Disney Channel is the perfect platform to explore this pint-sized female African American superhero and I can't wait for their audience to enjoy the lighthearted adventures of Lunella and Devil Dinosaur." Moon Girl/Lunella Lafayette is an Inhuman first appearing in 2016's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1. She was created by Amy Reeder, Brandon Montclare and Natacha Bustos. She's one of the smartest characters in the Marvel Universe. She's partnered up with Devil Dinosaur, who was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in 1978's Devil Dinosaur #1. In his original adventures, he was paired with Moon-Boy.
Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will hit Disney Channel in 2020.
