The Marvel Universe is filled with a wide variety of gods. These Gods range from ones from real-world mythologies to one created for the comics themselves. These Gods are beings that are hard to rank due to only a couple of them have fought each other. There is, however, a more morbid way to determine which Gods are the most powerful in the Marvel Universe.

This method is by ranking the Gods' power through their kill count.  While most of these have no confirmed kill count, they can be estimated from their actions. This article will rank the ten Gods in the Marvel universe with the highest estimated kill counts.

10 Nyx

Avengers No Road Home Nyx

Nyx, the Greek goddess of the night, served as the main antagonist for the miniseries Avengers: No Road Home. In the miniseries, Nyx freed from imprisonment due to the events of the No Surrender storyline decided to take vengeance upon Zeus for imprisoning her.

She took this vengeance by killing all of the Olympians except Hercules. She then caused a great deal of chaos throughout the timeline in search of the night shards to restore herself to full power. The Avengers was, however, able to stop her from using her full power to place the entire Universe into an eternal night.

9 Cul the Serpent

Cul, Odin's evil older brother, is most well known for being the main villain of the 2011 crossover Fear Itself During this crossover, he used his hammers to possed various heroes and villains to unleash a wave of terror and destruction across Earth and Asgard that cause thousands of death.

Even before Fear Itself, Cul had already built up a kill count. In the ancient past, he and his Worthy spread terror throughout the Nine Realms. They did this by destroying the realms' most powerful champions and the most willful that tried to resist them. He also conducted a devastating war that devastated the realms of the Giants leading to eon long conflict with the Asgardians.

8 Loki

Loki is a God who is hard to determine his exact kill count because he prefers to trick others into doing the killing for him. He has however directly destroyed Asgard on several occasions. The first occasion was when he lead Asgard's enemies in the battle of Ragnarok that wipes Asgard out from existence

The second time was when he manipulated Norman Osborn and H.A.M.M.E.R into attacking Asgard for its current placement over American soil. Beyond those occasions, Loki's scheme has lead to many conflicts that lead to the death of many Asgardians.

7 Set

Despite having the same name as the Egyptian god of Evil, Set is the serpent god featured in many Conan stories. Given that he is both as old as the Earth and one of the first evil gods, he has committed many atrocities. His first villainous action was murdering many of the Elder Gods to boost his power.

He would later try to wipe out all mammals by compelling all Reptiles and Dinosaurs to attack them in a vain effort to prevent the Dinosaurs from going extinct. He would later form a bunch of cults that would commit many atrocities in his name.

6 Atum

The Egyptian god of the sun has caused a great deal of destruction through his alter ego the Demogorge. During the first awakening of the Demogorge, he slaughtered all of the surviving Elder gods except for Chthon, Set, Gaea, and Oshtur. He would later fight Set in eon long battle over which species should rule over Earth lead to the extinction of the Dinosaurs.

More recently Atum has turned into the Demogorge on several occasions. Both times have seen him cause a great amount of destruction towards the various pantheon of gods. More recently it has been revealed that he also consumed all the gods that have been completely forgotten by mankind.

5 Thor

Despite Thor being one of Earth's mightiest heroes, he has a surprisingly high body count to his name.  While some of his body counts have come from fighting various forces that have tried to invade Asgard over its long history, they are several that placed Thor on the list.

One is that Thor during the crossover  Blood and Thunder succumbed to his warrior madness and rampaged across the universe. More recently Thor has helped Galactus in destroying several worlds as his new herald, which despite his efforts has still killed a lot of sentient beings.

4 Amatsu-Mikaboshi

The Japanese god of Evil has lived up to his name through all the heinous acts he has committed. The first known being his brutal siege of Mount Olympus killing many Olympians. He would later help a team of Gods called the God-Squad in killing many of the Skrull Gods to help protect Earth during Secret Invasion. 

Amatsu-Mikaboshi would use this conflict to set his plan to consumes all of reality, by wiping out a bunch the pantheons of various alien races like the Shi'ar and the Zen-Lavian.  He would also kill several Demon lords like Nightmare and Satan. This would lead to the Chaos War crossover as Amatsu-Mikaboshi tried to take out Earth's pantheon and nearly succeed in doing so.

3 Odin

Odin separates Loki and Thor in Marvel Comics

While Odin is most often portrayed as a good, he has killed many in the name of the greater good. For example, he wiped out all sentient life on Earth eons ago due to them being corrupted by his brother Cul. He would later wipe out an entire planet for a perceived wrong, indirectly creating Mangog.

He also leads Asgard in many wars to defend Asgard from any threat real or prophecized.  He would also destroy several galaxies when he was possessed by the entity Infinity, but those galaxies were restored by Odin after he regained his senses.

2 Knull

The evil ancient deity Knull serves as the overarching villain of Donny Cates' run on Venom. A deity angered by the creation of the universe has waged an eon-long war against existence itself. This war would see Knull wipe out many of the Gods in the early universe and hundreds of civilizations.

More recent Knull has attempted to escape his imprisonment in the core of the planet Klyntar by having various Symobites try to break him out. This effort has lead to many being possed by the Symbiotes to cause great deal destruction like the events of the Absolute Carnage crossover.

1 One Below All

Speaking of ancient deities that serve as overarching villains, the One Below All serves that role in the Immortal Hulk series. This God is unique on this list as he is on the top for the actions that he will commit rather than that he has already done. While he has already caused a great deal of destruction through his possession of various Gamma Mutates, the worse is yet to come.

At some point in the far future, he will gain possession of the Hulk and slaughter the last sentient beings of the universe. The One Below All would then absorbed the Sentience of the Universe allowing him to be reborn as the most powerful being of the next Cosmos. The One Below All would use this power to destroy everything in this newly formed Universe.
