Marvel's Ghost-Spider (formerly known as Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman) is headed for a major relaunch that will see Earth-65's resident Spider-hero spending a lot more time on Earth-616.

Marvel Comics has officially announced Ghost-Spider #1, which arrives this August from writer Seanan McGuire (Age of X-Man: The Amazing Nightcrawler) and artist Takeshi Miyazawa (Ms. Marvel).

This new series will follow Earth-65's Gwen Stacy as she splits her time between her home reality -- where she can typically be found jamming with the Mary Janes -- and the main Marvel continuity, where she will no doubt be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Peter Parker and Miles Morales on a much more frequent basis. Gwen will also be attending Empire State University in the mainline Marvel universe.

"After dipping her toes into the main Marvel Universe, Gwen Stacy is finally taking the leap part-time as she enrolls in Empire State University," said series assistant editor Danny Khazem. "But Gwen's going to need to do her Spider-History research if she's going to figure out just who from Spider-'s past is keeping tabs on her!"

Khazem continued, "Seanan McGuire and Takeshi Miyazawa are bringing their A-Game back to Gwen's world in Ghost-Spider #1, where she's going to face some familiar Spider-Foes in her travels between her native home of Earth-65 and Earth-616 - the Marvel Universe we all know and love!"

McGuire and Miyazawa are currently working on Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider, which is set to conclude with issue #10 in July. Ghost-Spider #1 goes on sale one month later. You can see Jorge Molina's cover and Joe Quesada's variant below:
