"In Ghost Rider 2099, we reimagine the origin of Ghost Rider that pays homage to the '90s series, but still pushes the character in a new and exciting direction. Lots of cameos for sharp-eyed readers!" Brisson told Marvel.com.

The cover to Ghost Rider 2099 #1 shows Zero wielding his signature buzzsaw surrounded by a hellfire blaze. Brisson also teases that fans of the '90s series will have plenty of Easter eggs and cameos to look forward to. It remains to be seen how the return of Ghost Rider 2099 will connect to Marvel's other 2099 titles. The publisher will also release Spider-Man 2099Doom 2099Venom 2099 and 2099 Omega, which teases a future "that ends here." Doctor Doom appears setup to be the main antagonist, as  he is prominently featured on the cover of 2099 Omega #1.

Ghost Rider 2099 #1 by Ed Brisson and Damian Couceiro goes on sale in December.
