When it comes to worlds full of nefarious plotting and violent skullduggery, no one does it better than the high lords and ladies of Westeros. Unless, of course, it’s the villains of Marvel. Replete with treacherous monarchs of Eastern European domains and crazed psychopaths sporting killer alien symbiotes, there’s no doubt that the villains of Marvel could give the worst Westeros has to offer a run for their money. That being said, from which families and power bases would they do it if they actually existed in Westeros? Wonder no further, as we've sorted Marvel villains into their Game of Thrones houses.

10 CARNAGE: House Bolton

Arguably, every House in Westeros has blood on its hands, however, if there was one that garnered it in the most sadistic and torturous ways possible, it’s definitely House Bolton. After all, with a banner of a flayed man flying over its keep, it’s difficult to see it any other way, especially when you consider its two major members: Roose, an eerily cold sociopath, and Ramsay, a bonafide psychopath.

Cletus Kasady would fit in well here. As a deranged lunatic with a penchant for elaborate torture and reasonless murder, Carnage would welcome the opportunity to share his vision with likeminded individuals. That is, until he tires of them and slaughters them all.

9 MAGNETO: House Stark

As a survivor of the Holocaust, Erik Lensherr has experienced sorrow beyond imagination, seeing his family ripped away from him in the most gruesome way possible. Seeking vengeance on those that caused it while protecting his new family - all of Mutantkind - has become his new reason for existence.

In this way, Magneto mimics the remaining members of House Stark, who wish to safeguard the lands and people of the North while gaining a modicum of retribution against those who so dastardly cut down several members of their pack.

8 THE KINGPIN: House Lannister

The head of a vast criminal empire that is obscured under the shadow of legitimate business, Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, is used to having almost anything at his disposal. Whether weapons, assassins, political leverage or immunity from persecution, there’s nothing the Kingpin can’t bend to his will by persuasion, coercion, or bloody force. In this way, he mimics the patriarch of House Lannister, Tywin. Able to buy the loyalty and political fealty of anyone or even an entire House itself, Tywin Lannister is the effective Kingpin of Westeros, as the machinations leading to the Red Wedding can attest to.

7 SABRETOOTH: House Clegane

Just as feral as his arch-nemesis Wolverine and with less of a conscience, Sabretooth is a wanton engine of destruction. An incredibly effective killing machine that thoroughly enjoys wholesale slaughter, Sabretooth functions best and profits most when he is released on his prey by the highest bidder.

Here, he mirrors the beasts of House Clegane, particularly Ser Gregor, The Mountain. The lapdogs of House Lannister, The Mountain is often let loose when Tywin needs some wetwork done in the most gruesome way possible to send a message. In this House, Sabretooth would find a perfect home.

6 MYSTIQUE: The Faceless Men

Mystique is an assassin extraordinaire, as her mutant ability to mimic the appearance and abilities of any individual allows her to get in close to her targets and accomplish her mission. Assuming the identities of other people has also, from time to time, given her some identity issues which have shown in the roles she has chosen to fulfill over the years: assassin, government agent and X-Man. In this way, Mystique would fit in with the group known as the Faceless Men. Able to take the visage of anyone they wish, their efficacy as assassins in renown, as are their methods of washing away the identities of their operatives.

5 LOKI: House Frey

As the Asgardian God of Lies and Mischief, Loki is no stranger to acts of deception and deceit. Cunning, smooth, and infinitely calculating, Loki is constantly on the lookout to increase his influence and power base by any avenue he can. Often too cowardly to push forward his agenda in direct battle with his adversaries, Loki often prefers to scheme his way to success.

In this way, Loki would fit in well in House Frey, whose patriarch, Walder, engaged in deadly subterfuge with Tywin Lannister to increase his family’s standing. The resulting Red Wedding was ruthless, cutthroat and decidedly cruel, which would fit Loki’s M.O. to a tee.

4 NORMAN OSBORN: House Lannister

A highly intelligent and utterly ruthless man both in the boardroom and on the battlefield, Norman Osborn shares many traits with the patriarch of Lannister House and would fit in well with that clan. Like Tywin, he is a powerful, rich and influential man who is not above personal combat to further his agenda when all else fails.

Moreover, Osborn is just as obsessed with family and legacy as Tywin, as he has often placed his stock in both his son and his grandson to carry the Osborn name forward. Unfortunately, like Joffrey, he has a streak of genetic insanity and impulsiveness to him, albeit as the result of the Goblin formula and not through any sordid dynastic origins.

3 DOCTOR DOOM: House Targaryen

An arrogant megalomaniac, Victor Von Doom was born knowing he was not only destined to rule his native land of Latveria but the entire universe itself. To achieve those ends, Doom has stopped at literally nothing, daring to defy cosmic entities to achieve his ambitions and braving the very fires of Hell to pursue his personal aims. Nothing or no one is unexpendable in his eyes, and in this regard, he would fit in well in House Targaryen. Known to achieve great power through daring and an unflinching belief in their own superiority by simple birthright, Doom, like the Targaryens, could take the words "Fire and Blood" to new heights.

2 VENOM: House Baratheon

For most of his existence as a member of Spider-Man's rogues' gallery, Venom has harbored a deep-seated and unnatural hatred of the web-slinger and all he stands for. He simultaneously developed a skewed and twisted sense of honor that forced him to protect innocence at all costs, even if he had to murder to do it.

In this, Venom would fit in well in House Baratheon, whose two eldest leaders each bore similarities with the Lethal Protector. King Robert had an unnatural hatred of all things Targaryen (which pushed him to contemplate pre-emptive infanticide) and Stannis followed a personal code of honor so stringent and brutal it allowed him to sacrifice his own daughter for his cause!

1 THANOS: The Others

Despite whatever characteristics may prove him suited to any of the other Houses or affiliations of Westeros, Thanos belongs at the head of the Others, or White Walkers. Having assembled the Infinity Gauntlet and (temporarily) succeeding in killing off half the universe, there's no doubt Thanos is the Marvel Universe's harbinger of Death, which his worship of can attest to. Even without the Gauntlet, Thanos and his Black Order are incredibly deadly and powerful, spreading death through the universe in much the same way the Night King and his legions spread it through Westeros.
