Marvel Comics isn't known for its abundance of speedsters like DC is. There is no Flash, Reverse-Flash, Zoom, or Max Mercury. Quicksilver is the most notorious speedster of the Marvel Universe, and it's generally agreed upon that his highest speeds (for the most part) still don't touch those of the Flash (Barry or Wally)

There are even fewer famous super-fast villains in Marvel. However, that doesn't mean they aren't out there. In the dark corners of the rogues' gallery of various Avengers and X-Men members, speedsters can be found who use their incredible power for ill intentions. Super-speed is a very useful power when staging a robbery, after all.

10 Speedfreek Is An Often-Forgotten Rogue Killed By Nitro The Exploding Man

Speedfreek is one of the handful of Marvel villains whose primary and only power is speed. Joss Shappe's speed come from a special suit that he built for himself, which also includes Adamantium blades and projectile launchers. The exact speed of his suit is unknown, but since he is known as a speedster, assuming he can run faster than 200 mph seems fair.

Speedfreek mostly made himself a pest to the Incredible Hulk and the New Warriors. However, he died in the lead-up to the Superhuman Civil War during the New Warrior's fateful confrontation with Nitro the Exploding Man in Stamford, Connecticut.

9 Vengeance's Motorcycle Can Carry Him At Blinding Speeds

Ghost Rider Vengeance on his Motorcycle

Vengeance, aka Michael Badilino, has a bit of an unfair advantage. Like the Ghost Rider, Vengeance has a hellfire-powered motorcycle that can travel at unbelievable speeds. Vengeance himself has been shown to actually run quite fast, though not as fast as his motorcycle.

Vengeance is essentially an evil counterpart to the Ghost Rider. He was given powers by Mephisto to eliminate both Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch. Vengeance actually did some good over the years, and he eventually destroyed himself to kill the villain, Anton Hellgate. However, he recently escaped from Hell, and his future plans are unknown.

8 Black Racer Is A Super-Fast Member Of The Serpent Society

Black Racer

Black Racer is a more obscure member of the Serpent Society. Her true name is Ariana Saddiqi. Her only known power is that of speed, and she has been a foe to the likes of Captain America and the Thing of the Fantastic Four a few times over the years.

Black Racer actually took part in a cosmic race of the fastest beings in existence put together by an Elder of the Universe called the Runner. She didn't do particularly well, but her participation does show her to be of considerable speed.

7 The Klaw Is Living Sound And Can Move At Sonic Speeds

Klaw firing his sonic blaster

Ulysses Klaw is the archenemy of the Black Panther and a warlord obsessed with the potential power of Vibranium. After the destruction of a sonic weapon he was using against Wakanda, Ulysses became the Klaw, a being made of pure sound.

This makes him virtually indestructible and capable of emitting and manipulating sound in a wide variety of ways. He can also turn himself into soundwaves, thus allowing him to transmit himself at the speed of sound - which is 343 meters per second, or one mile every 4.9 seconds.

6 Speed Demon Can Move At Speeds Similar To Quicksilver

Speed Demon, aka James Sanders, is a man who was given superspeed by the Grandmaster. He first appeared as the Whizzer and joined the Squadron Sinister, an evil counterpart to the Squadron Supreme, (itself a Marvel counterpart to the Justice League) to fight the Avengers at the behest of the Grandmaster.

After the team disbanded, he changed his name to Speed Demon and became a regular foe of Spider-Man and, more recently, Captain America. He could always break the sound barrier with his speed, but it has recently been enhanced further. He can now run at blinding speeds in short bursts.

5 Hyperion Has Superspeed Comparable To DC's Superman

Hyperion

Referencing Hyperion is a little complicated, as there are several variations of Hyperion across the Marvel Multiverse. Many of them are heroes, but several others are villains. The Hyperion of the Squadron Sinister as well as the Hyperion of the recent Squadron Supreme of America are both villainous Hyperion's.

Generally speaking, Hyperion's have power comparable to but not quite as great as those of Superman. This means that they can move and fly at incredible speeds. While the Speed Demon is quite fast, the Hyperion of the Squadron Supreme of America seems to be among the most powerful Hyperion's encountered yet and is likely faster than even Speed Demon.

4 The Blur Is A Speedster Akin To The Flash

Blur running with a smirk

Like Hyperion, there have been a few speedsters across the Multiverse who used the name "Blur" before. However, the recent Blur of the Squadron Supreme of America seems to be the most powerful incarnation of the character and is undeniably villainous. In the version of Earth created by Phil Coulson and the Pandemonium Cube, the Blur was faster than Quicksilver and, ultimately, killed Pietro.

He was brought down by the Black Panther, who was able to keep up with him. The how's and why's of this are a little murky - fan's best guesses are Black Panther's Vibranium suit absorbing Blur's speed energy or the degradation of the reality created by the Pandemonium Cube. In any case, this was the end of the Blur as "the Fastest Mortal Alive."

3 The Living Laser Is An Energy Being Who Can Travel At The Speed Of Light

The Living Laser firing off lightning

The Living Laser was once a man named Arthur Parks who first fought the Avengers while pursuing his obsession over Janet van Dyne, aka the Wasp. His human body was later destroyed while fighting Iron Man, and he is now a being made of pure energy.

Consequently, he is now truly a living laser. In his new form, the Living Laser can move at the speed of light while in his non-physical form. Consequently, he is one of the fastest living things in the Marvel Universe.

2 The Void Is An Entity Able To Move Faster Than Thought

The Void unleashed emitting massive amounts of energy

The Void is the villainous counterpart to Bob Reynolds, aka the Sentry. It seems that the Void has all the same powers as the Sentry and more. The Sentry already is a being on par with Superman who can move at a velocity close to the speed of light.

However, the Void claims to be able to move the speed of thought and, being an entity made of pure darkness, is likely able to back those claims up. The Void has always been held back by the Sentry resisting his manifestation, so we likely haven't seen the Void truly unleashed yet.

1 The Runner Is The Very Embodiment Of Speed Itself

The Runner speeding across space

The Runner is an Elder of the Universe akin to the Grandmaster, the Collector, and the Celestial Gardener. The Runner is the very embodiment of speed, and the only being who has been able to keep up with him is Makkari of the Eternals. The Runner is undeniably a villain, with his involvement in some of the Grandmaster's cruel games with mortals and an attempt to assassinate Galactus - which would have triggered an unnatural universal rebirth that would have given the Elders of the Universe Galactus' power.

The Runner had the Space Gem for a time, but he lost it to Thanos when the Mad Titan used the Time Gem to age the Runner a million years in an instant. This occurred during Thanos' original quest to create the Infinity Gauntlet.
