The Fantastic Four are returning to the Marvel Universe in a new monthly series from writer Dan Slott and artist Sara Pichelli. Following the news, the publisher also released a piece of artwork from Pichelli featuring Marvel's First Family of Ben Grimm (The Thing), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) and Johnny Storm (Human Torch).

“We were waiting for the right time and the right creative team to bring them back,” Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski told the New York Times. Once Slott finished his 10-year run on The Amazing Spider-Man and Pichelli was free of her other obligations, they became the top choice to herald the Fantastic Four's return.

"I can’t wait to draw a lot of the characters, but there’s one in particular I can’t reveal yet,” Pichelli added. “You will know why they’re my favorite when you read the book!”

“I started my adventures in the Marvel Universe with a freaked-out Reed Richards, the Watcher and the Silver Surfer,” Slott said. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”
