Marvel Reveals Every X-Men Themed Jim Lee Trading Card Variant

Jim Lee's classic X-Men artwork will grace variant covers for nearly thirty of Marvel's releases in July.

This July, Marvel Comics' variant cover theme is a bit of a throwback; throughout the month, the publisher will release a total of 29 variant covers featuring classic Jim Lee artwork. Having previously debuted a portion of the covers fans will discover on stands next month, Marvel has now released every single variant.

The covers will feature images from Lee and inker Scott Williams' X-Men trading card series, which was released in the mid-'90s. Each piece of art has been re-colored specifically for the variant program by a number of artists, including Jesus Aburtov, Israel Silva and Chris Sotomayor.

This July, mutants will once again assemble in ASTONISHING X-MEN #1, and Marvel is celebrating the occasion with a series of nearly thirty X-MEN TRADING CARD VARIANTS by legendary artist Jim Lee! After debuting a selection of covers earlier this year, Marvel is proud to release the remaining variant covers of the full collection.

Remastered and recolored from the original trading cards, relive this iconic era of the Children of the Atom with a series of eye-popping covers celebrating your favorite characters. Originally penciled by legendary X-Men artist Jim Lee with inker Scott Williams, colorists such as Jesus Aburtov, Israel Silva & Chris Sotomayor apply modern coloring techniques to these classic masterpieces!
