Marvel Studios has chosen Ruins writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo to pen the script for its Eternals movie. The Firpos' Ruin script follows a former Nazi captain who hunts down members of his task force to atone for his evil deeds.

Introduced in 1976 by legendary comic book creator Jack Kirby, the Eternals are super-powered evolutionary offshoot of humanity, and star heroes such as Sersi, Athena and Ikaris.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed early development on an Eternals film in April, stating, “Eternals is one of many, many, many things that we are actively beginning to have creative discussions about to see if we believe in them enough to put them on a slate."

Created a million years ago through genetic experiments by the ancient cosmic race called the Celestials, the Eternals were imbued with the genetic potential to use their minds to control small quantities of cosmic energy. They also possess other abilities, and are extremely long-lived.
