The first trailer for Eternals has garnered more views than any other Disney trailer released since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began.

According to Deadline, the Eternals trailer snagged 77 million global views during its first 24 hours online. That surpasses the 71 million views for the initial Cruella trailer, as well as the view count for a WandaVision trailer to become the most-viewed trailer Disney has put out during the pandemic.

Eternals did fall behind the 125 million views The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's trailer received, but that included broadcast viewers from its Super Bowl premiere. By contrast, Eternals had its viewership confined to online traffic.

The Eternals trailer also surpassed the view count for major Disney trailers released prior to the pandemic. For example, it exceeded the 61.7 million views for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and the 60.8 million views for the Aladdin trailer. Eternals also quickly became a trending topic thanks to its trailer, including on YouTube where it trended above all other videos.

Directed by Chloé Zhao from a screenplay by Zhao and Patrick Burleigh, Eternals stars Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 5.
