Marvel Studios is reportedly in talks with Salma Hayek Pinault (The Hitman’s Bodyguard) to join the cast of The Eternals.
The Wrap reports details on which specific character Hayek would be playing are currently unknown.
While Marvel and Disney haven't confirmed an Eternals movie can be expected for Phase 4, a slew of reports detail actors expected to join the project. Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden was reportedly in talks to portray Ikaris with Angelina Jolie as Sersi, as well as Kumail Nanjiani and Ma Dong-seok in mysterious roles. Marvel Studios is still said to be eyeing an out Asian actor for a lead role, as well as the film reportedly set to cast at least two more lead female roles with "Piper" and "Karen." If the reports turn out to be true, Hayek may be in line to snag one of those two female roles.
The most recent report had John Wick star Keanu Reeves in early negotiations for The Eternals, though with all these reports, they should be taken with a grain of salt until the studio officially confirms the film and cast.
Filming on The Eternals is expected to begin later this year after Black Widow wraps production.
Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, The Eternals is expected to be released in theaters in 2020.
