Previous reports claimed Marvel Studios is looking to cast its first openly gay male lead for the upcoming 2020 film. Seeing as Eternals is set to be an ensemble film, this is still within the realm of possibility, though no additional casting news has been announced at this time.

Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, The Eternals is expected to be released in theaters in 2020.
