An Eternals action figure reveals that Richard Madden's Ikaris will carry one of his powers from the comics to the silver screen.The @ETERNALSnews account on Twitter posted two images of the Ikaris figure, showcasing his costume. In comics canon, Ikaris has the ability to project cosmic energy from his body. He often does this in the form of powerful beams from his eyes, which can mimic many forms of energy, including heat and electromagnetism. He also possesses immense strength and durability as well as flight and psychic powers, making him one of the strongest Eternals to ever exist.

Other merchandise has revealed more information about the Eternals, including Angelina Jolie's Thena and her relationship with Gilgamesh along with the costumes the Eternals will be wearing. From the information that has been gleaned from the merchandise, it looks like director Chloé Zhao is hewing fairly close to the source material.

Based on the characters created by Jack Kirby, Eternals centers around a race of immortal beings who have taken up residence on Earth. The film was originally scheduled to premiere in Nov. 2020, though the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic pushed it back a full year.

Directed by Chloé Zhao from a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, Eternals stars Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 5, 2021.
