With less than a month until the release of Eternals, Marvel debuted a new teaser showcasing its expansive superhero team's unique cosmic abilities.Beginning in the early man era, the Eternals teaser opens with Sersi (Gemma Chan) announcing in voiceover that her race "came here to protect humans from the Deviants." This is demonstrated by Thena (Angelina Jolie) fighting against a dinosaur-like being and assuring someone off-screen that "When you love something, you fight for it," intercut with other Eternals using their powers both for fun and against similar creatures in a more contemporary setting.RELATED: Eternals Could Have One of the MCU's Longest Runtimes

Marketed with the tagline "The fight for our world is eternal," the remaining promo focuses on present-day Eternals members reuniting both in their costumes and modern clothing while confronting the Deviant threat, including one humanoid figure. Their abilities are also given a greater focus, ranging from Ikaris (Richard Madden) and Kingo's (Kumail Nanjiani) ability to shoot laser beams to Thena and Gilgamesh's (Don Lee) weapons and Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) using a mysterious technological device. It also drops a comedic moment during Ikaris and Sersi's encounter with Phastos' husband (Haaz Sleiman) and son where the latter recognizes him from TV "with the cape shooting lasers," only for Ikaris to shoot down the idea of him wearing capes.

Created in 1976 by Jack Kirby, Eternals will mark the first adaptation of these Marvel characters outside of the comics. Initially supposed to release in 2020, the film was delayed to November by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with two official trailers dropping in May and August, respectively. These trailers established the alien race's millennia-long relationship with humanity but, according to director Chloé Zhao, who recently won the Best Picture and Best Director Oscars for her 2020 film Nomadland, Eternals will be divided into two separate timelines between the past and post-Avengers: Endgame present. While reviews for Eternals have not come out yet, a statement by longtime Marvel Studios producer Victoria Alonso implies that the film will be screened at the Rome International Film Festival.

Directed by Chloé Zhao, Eternals hits theaters on November 5.
