Fortnite recently brought the Marvel Universe to the popular game in the form of skins and other additions, such as hidden secrets. As such, there are a lot of hidden -- and not so hidden -- nods to the comics sprinkled throughout Fortnite. In this new video, we're going to break down some of those references in Fortnite Season 4.

The various skins added in Fortnite Season 4 go a bit beyond just being looks the player can wear. Instead, these are the actual Marvel characters, and they're canon to their counterparts in the comics. This is why Thor, for example, is serving as the Herald of Galactus in Fortnite. He's aiming to ward off any threat that only Galactus can deal with, and there's even been a digital crossover with Marvel.

Fortnite also features Easter eggs referencing T'Challa/Black Panther. Boseman's untimely passing took the world by surprise, and there's a way to actually honor him in Fortnite. To the left of Misty Meadows is a giant statue of Bast, which was added in the third wave of updates to the game. According to legend, Bast gave the Black Panther his power and the people of Wakanda vibranium. It's here that players have been honoring Boseman and his life.

Developed by Epic Games and released in 2017, Fortnite is one of the most popular video games in the world, with millions of players worldwide. In Fortnite, players compete against other players in a battle-royale style game. The phenomenon has been referenced in countless media and crossed over with such franchises as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC Universe and more.
