Marvel's brand-new demonic Spider-Man, Rek-Rap, gets ready to fight Ben Reilly's Insidious Six in a CBR exclusive preview of Amazing Spider-Man #18.

In Amazing Spider-Man #17, Marvel introduced a brand-new web-slinger named Rek-Rap. Prior to becoming an extremely muscular version of Spider-Man, Rek-Rap was a demon who hailed from Limbo who Peter Parker, also trapped in Limbo, saved from some ghoulish creatures. Inspired by Peter's act of goodwill, the demon declared himself a hero named Parker-Man who attempted to oppose Ben Reilly/Chasm's Insidious Six. When that failed, Parker-Man visited a wizard introduced in Venom #13 (by Al Ewing, Bryan Hitch, Andrew Currie, Alex Sinclair and VC's Clayton Cowles) and transformed into Rek-Rap.

Rek-Rap bellows after the Insidious Six declare they want to kill the spider. "The Insidious Six have teamed up to defeat us! What do you say we start this off with some classic web-whanging?"

Amazing Spider-Man #18 Marks a Fresh Start for Marvel's Goblin Queen

The Amazing Spider-Man #18 preview also sees Madelyne Pryor/the Goblin Queen lead a charge to stop the Dark Web attack plaguing New York City. Madelyne initially joined forces with Chasm, Venom/Eddie Brock and Hallow's Eve/Janine Godbe in Dark Web #1 (by Zeb Wells, Adam Kubert, Frank Martin and Joe Caramagna) to send a horde of Limbo demons into New York City. The three-issue Dark Web: X-Men series revealed Madelyne's motivations were doing so revolved around her wanting the memories of Jean Grey, whom she was cloned from.

In Dark Web: X-Men #3 (by Gerry Duggan, Rod Reis, Phil Noto and Cory Petit), Jean allowed Madelyne to have her memories of raising Nathan Summers/Cable, which then brought upon a change of heart for the Goblin Queen as she officially switched sides and joined forces with the X-Men.
