Defenders Video Shows Daredevil Join Forces with Jessica Jones & More

With their powers combined, "Marvel's Defenders" will protect New York City from its next greatest threat. While we still aren't sure what these heroes will face when the series debuts later this year, we do know that they'll be teaming up to stop it -- and now we have video proof.

A new "Defendes" set video has leaked online, courtesy of ComicCon.news. The video finds several Marvel Netflix characters in a building with large glass windows: Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and a costumed Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Notably, Finn Jones' Iron Fist is missing from this ensemble, though he did appear in a set video that surfaced online yesterday.

Unlike yesterday's video, there isn't a whole lot of action here. The motley Defenders crew moves from one room into another, where they gather around a desk. As they congregate, a boom mic descends over the group, which indicates they're having a conversation. Aside from that, though, it's hard to tell what is going on in this scene.

Seeing as Daredevil is part of the group here, this video may very well take place shortly before the one that dropped yesterday, which shows Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Colleen Wing and Misty Knight running away from something that has left the crew bloody and bruised.

Though "Defenders" is busy filming, Netflix has another Marvel series on the way. "Iron Fist" arrives on the small screen this Friday and promises to add a mystical element to this gritty corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character is the only Defender who received his powers through mystical means, having acquired his fiery fists from an ancient dragon. In their comic books incarnation, the Defenders were superhero outsiders who frequently fought mystical and supernatural threats. First appearing in 1971 in “Marvel Feature” #1, the team was originally founded by Doctor Strange and would go on to feature a rotating cast of characters who never easily slotted into the superhero archetype.

Debuting on Netflix in 2017, "The Defenders" is a production of Marvel Television developed for television by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, starring Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Elodie Yung and Sigourney Weaver.
