UPDATE 08/24/18: Marvel Comics released a similar teaser featuring Doctor Strange shortly after the release of the original batch of art. The Doctor Strange teaser has since been added to this article.

A slew of teaser images from Marvel Comics hints at a relaunch of Defenders starring the original roster of Hulk, Namor, Silver Surfer and Doctor Strange, who is the only hero missing a teaser so far.

The Ron Garney and Richard Isanove images feature each individual Defender with the tagline, "The Best Defense" and the date December 2018, which is when a new series is likely to begin.

Marvel recently relaunched The Defenders as a street-level team of Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, following the Netflix series of the same name.

The publisher has dropped clues that a revival of the original Defenders is in the works. In Marvel's October 2018 solicitations, Avengers #9 and The Immortal Hulk #7 see Earth's Mightiest Heroes clash with a founding Defender. Avengers #9 takes the team to Atlantis to stop a civil war, with the issues debuting a new costume for the Sub Mariner, while The Immortal Hulk #7 has the Avengers looking to apprehend Bruce Banner's new immortal alter-ego.
