When Marvel's "Monsters Unleashed" roars to life in January, it will not only feature monsters from all across Marvel's history but a batch of new ones as well. Marvel has unveiled six of the new monsters that will be unleashed during the action-packed event. The monsters were designed by the series' five artists (Greg Land, Salvador Larroca, Steve McNiven, Adam Kubert, Leinil Yu) and legendary artist Art Adams from stats and power rankings devised by writer Cullen Bunn.
“Everything about this story is massive – the scope, the stakes and, of course, those incredible monsters,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso in an announcement. “Five action-packed issues celebrate Marvel’s past, present and future, as one new, unforgettable character and several brand-new monsters – created and designed by Cullen Bunn, the five artists and a few surprise guest artists – arrive to leave an indelible mark on the Marvel Universe.”
To introduce these six new monsters, Marvel has whipped up some fierce looking trading card-style art.
The “Monsters Unleashed” event is a five-issue series written by Cullen Bunn with art from Steve McNiven, Leinil Yu, Adam Kubert, Greg Land and Salvador Larocca featuring pretty much every monster ever featured in a Marvel comic. The event will see teams like the Avengers, Champions, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men and Inhumans all fighting against a monster invasion, and now these eight tie-ins will see how other heroes deal with the event.
