During last night's "Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop" special, ABC debuted an extended clip from the series premiere of "Agent Carter" featuring Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper and James D'Arcy.

The scene suggests viewers may not see much of Stark (Cooper), who slips away by boat in the night on his way overseas, leaving Peggy Carter (Atwell) and his butler Edwin Jarvis (D'Arcy) to track down his formula for molecular nitroamine before it reaches the black market. Presumably, that's what will drive the eight-part miniseries.

Premiering in January, during the midseason hiatus of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," the series picks up in 1946, following the events of "Captain America: The First Avenger," with Peggy Carter trying to balance her routine office work for the Strategic Scientific Reserve with the missions she secretly undertakes for Howard Stark.

"Agent Carter" also stars Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, Shea Whigham, Kyle Bornheimer and Lyndsy Fonseca.
