With "Thor: The Dark World" still a couple of weeks away from release, Marvel Studios is already revving up the promotional machine for its next big screen outing. Yesterday, the studio debuted the first teaser poster for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," building anticipation for the October 24 debut of the patriotic Avenger's first teaser trailer. Today, USA Today has a pair of stills from the anticipated sequel.

"There's nobody better at that kind of stuff than Marvel if you're going to attempt to pull that off and go for it," director Joe Russo told the paper. "We all tried to up the ante with what happens in this movie in terms of what's come before, and I think we've done that."

Check out the stills below, and check back with CBR tomorrow for the debut of the first trailer for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" stars Marvel Cinematic Universe veterans Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Cobie Smulders, Haley Atwell, Toby Jones and Max Hernandez, along with newcomers Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre and Robert Redford. It opens April 4, 2014.
