Deadpool made his comic book debut in 1991 in The New Mutants #98, written by Rob Liefeld and Fabien Nicieza. Three decades later and the success of the Merc with a Mouth has led to a number of video game appearances, cartoon appearances and his own feature films.

With the 30th anniversary of Deadpool's debut coming up, co-creator Rob Liefeld has produced 30 different variant covers featuring a range of iconic superheroes from across the Marvel universe, including Miles Morales, Wolverine, the Hulk and more. Starting with the giant-sized Deadpool Nerdy 30 #1, these covers will appear on comics throughout 2021.

The Deadpool creator stated, "When the opportunity to illustrate 30 variant covers commemorating Deadpool's 30th anniversary came up, I literally jumped at the chance!" He added, "I went over a quick checklist with the Marvel brass and I think we’ve picked a great array of Marvel's biggest and brightest stars to pair with the Mighty Merc over 30 unique covers!" Liefeld then expressed excitement at the opportunity to draw characters such as Miles Morales and Silver Surfer, both of which he had never drawn before.

Published by Marvel Comics, Deadpool Nerdy 30 #1 will release sometime in March 2021, with the variant cover program starting that month and continuing for one year.
