Daredevil and the Punisher are saved as new fan art envisions the characters joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a revival of Daredevil on Disney+.

The artwork from Instagram account Agt Design sees an amalgam of moments from the MCU and the Netflix series combined. Fans of the series have been longing to see it brought back onto the screen in any capacity, even launching the #SaveDaredevil campaign shortly after it had been announced it wouldn't see another season. The latest fan art gives a glimpse of what the series' salvation may look like in the MCU.

Looking at the artwork, the lower section features promotional material used from Daredevil's first season, while the middle of the poster sees Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Jon Bernthal's Punisher join other supporting characters with Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Zendaya's MJ from the MCU. Looming over the characters is none other than Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, the primary antagonist of the series.

Shortly after Daredevil's third season released in 2018 on Netflix, the show was cancelled by the platform. By that point, Netflix had already axed some of their other Marvel original series, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, and deemed that The Defenders crossover would remain a limited series and not see another team-up season. Jessica Jones and The Punisher would follow suit and be scrapped the following year in 2019.

Reports have come out claiming that Charlie Cox may be returning as the "Devil of Hell's Kitchen" for Spider-Man: No Way Home, but no trailer or any official news has been released regarding the film that can confirm his involvement. A report from January this year though said that Cox had finished filming his scenes for the film.

Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige has faced the question of whether the Netflix characters would see a return in the MCU more than once. He has always taken the route of neither confirming nor denying anything. However, he has said that he has "been at Marvel long enough to never say never about anything."

Many of the former Netflix series' actors have since moved on to other projects. The year after Daredevil's cancellation, Charlie Cox starred in the Broadway show Betrayal with Loki star Tom Hiddleston, the two even dressing up as each other's heroes for Halloween that year. Jon Bernthal has taken up other film roles since The Punisher ended, such as a supporting role in the Oscar-winning Ford v Ferrari, while leading and supporting actors from each series have moved on to roles in other television series and films.
