WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Devil's Reign #4, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Devil's Reign #4, by Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, Marcio Menyz and Clayton Cowles, sees Wilson Fisk/Kingpin remembering that Matt Murdock is Daredevil.

At the end of Devil's Reign #4, Fisk returns home after unsuccessfully attempting to bring his son, Butch, back into the fold. While there, Fisk talks with Typhoid Mary, and the subject eventually turns to memory. Fisk wishes for Mary to be able to remember, and her memories suddenly return due to the diamond in his cane, which contains a piece of Zebediah Killgrave/Purple Man. Fisk then heads to the roof and asks the cane to help him remember. As lightning crackles above New York, Fisk says a name: Matt Murdock. The narration happening alongside this event notes that Fisk wants to be "born again," making reference to the storyline in which he learned that Matt and Daredevil were one and the same.

Wilson Fisk/Kingpin remembers Matt Murdock is Daredevil in Devil's Reign #4

In 1986, writer Frank Miller and artist David Mazzucchelli worked together on Daredevil in an titled "Born Again." The story saw Kingpin discovering that Murdock was, in fact, Daredevil due to information he received from a struggling Karen Page. Kingpin then used this newfound information and his immense power to absolutely destroy the blind lawyer's life.

While the information remained relatively private for a long time, Daredevil's identity was eventually exposed to the world, which resulted in a temporary move to San Francisco from New York after he was disbarred. Eventually, the Purple Children re-hid Matt's identity as a thank you for helping them. This meant everyone, including Kingpin, no longer knew that Matt was Daredevil.

The Devil's Reign event has seen Kingpin using his position as the Mayor of New York, which he has held since just after 2017's Secret Empire, to ban superheroes. This has resulted in a number of prominent arrests and a campaign by Luke Cage to unseat Fisk. However, Fisk has enlisted the help of Otto Octavius/Doc Ock and a number of other characters to help him keep control.

On sale now from Marvel Comics, Devil's Reign #4 features covers from Marco Checchetto and Matthew Wilson; Leinil Francis Yu and Sunny Gho; and Mark Bagley, Andrew Hennessy and Edgar Delgado. The next book in the mainline series, Devil's Reign #5, releases March 9.
