On October 19th, 2018, Netflix released the third season of Marvel’s Daredevil, which would be the final set of episodes aired. Daredevil tied into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as serving to kick off a lineup of series for Netflix and Marvel together.

Audiences saw Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders following right behind in Daredevil's footsteps. Now that the character rights for Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, have reverted back to Marvel Studios, fans are looking for other options to bring Daredevil back into the MCU where he belongs.

10 Give Daredevil His Own Movie

The first, best course of action when it comes to reintroducing a character as important as Matt Murdock is to give them their own movie. After characters like Tony Stark got movies like 2008’s Iron Man, it’s hard to see Matt Murdock not receiving the same treatment. Part of this may have to do with the relative lack of success that the movie Daredevil (2003) saw, but Ben Affleck’s Man Without Fear certainly didn’t do any favors for Charlie Cox when he took up with horned helm.

9 Included In Black Widow

Both Matt Murdock and Natasha (or Natalia) Romanoff, AKA Daredevil and the Black Widow, have a number of love interests throughout their comic, animated, & live-action media appearances. One of their most popular love interests, however, is one another, which makes the 2021 Black Widow movie a good potential opening to introduce Daredevil into the MCU. Though it’s unlikely that audiences will see Charlie Cox making an appearance in Black Widow, it would’ve made a lot of sense to bring Daredevil back that way.

8 Heading To Hulu

Because Netflix no longer holds the character rights to Daredevil, other streaming services could potentially look to pick the show up and reintroduce a fourth season on their platform.

Hulu would be an easy jump, partially because they’re already airing quite a few shows adapted from Marvel Comics. Programs like Runaways are having their original run on Hulu, making it a possibly excellent home for Daredevil now that it’s roaming from Netflix.

7 Bring Him Into Spider-Man 3

While Daredevil has some legendary romances, he has some legendary friendships, too, and some truly iconic team-ups. He’s teamed up with Spider-Man many times, as Daredevil as well as as Matt Murdock. Peter Parker needs help with the law just as much as any other masked hero might. With Spider-Man’s third movie in its MCU trilogy being cast currently – introducing many characters from different Marvel universes – bringing in Daredevil as a member of this massive team-up could be a good idea to just have him make a reappearance.

6 Moving To Amazon Prime Video

Vincent D'Onofrio as the Kingpin in Netflix's Daredevil

While networks like Freeform and ABC have had shows like Cloak and Dagger and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it seems that streaming services are the better option for MCU shows moving forward. Because it’s so easy to rent or buy a lot of movies and TV shows in the MCU through Amazon Prime Video, it would make a lot of sense to reintroduce Daredevil to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the same spot. Bringing Daredevil back with a fourth season on Amazon Prime Video would make it much easier for fans to smoothly segue into watching him after watching the rest of the Infinity Saga.

5 Appearing In The Hawkeye TV Show

One of the wonderful things about Daredevil is that he’s a hero on the street level. Whereas characters like Captain America are literally punching Adolf Hitler in the comics, men like Matt Murdock are more grounded in their cities and the people they’re defending.

The same is true for Hawkeye, Clint Barton, who doesn’t necessarily have superpowers, but cares about helping those around him with the skills he does have. This makes the TV show, Hawkeye, a potentially excellent spot for Daredevil to return to.

4 Try Out HBO

While streaming services like Netflix and Hulu are slowly taking the places of the old popular cable networks like NBC and CBS, staples like HBO have been adapting over time. HBO now has become a streaming platform, as well, continuing to produce their own excellent original content year in and year out. This makes HBO a potential hotspot for a Daredevil return, especially because HBO can show more adult themes than some other options. To keep up with the Daredevil of the comics, HBO could be a freeing, open space for Matt Murdock to be welcomed into the MCU, but it may be difficult to fight against all the DCEU movies on HBO.

3 Exploring Other Universes With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

The title of Doctor Strange’s new movie says it all: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is likely going to see the titular Doctor Strange going through different Marvel canons, and potentially ones that already exist.

This makes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness a perfect spot for Daredevil to make his reappearance. If Marvel were to simply revisit Marvel’s Daredevil in the film, it would be an easy way to tie the show to the MCU films and bring Daredevil in later, if possible.

2 Using The Rights On Disney+

Because the rights for Daredevil and the character have reverted back to Disney, technically, it wouldn't surprise most audiences to see Daredevil make his grand reappearance on Disney's streaming platform, Disney+. Like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ has all the other Marvel movies easily accessible, as well as a large majority of Disney and Marvel's television shows. On Disney+, viewers can not only watch the MCU films phase by phase, as well as Marvel legacy movies like X-Men (2000), but they can also watch animated shows, Marvel specials, and brand-new Marvel shows airing fresh on Disney+, like WandaVision, Lokithe aforementioned Hawkeyeand The Falcon And The Winter Soldierall of which would make delightful — and logical — companions to a Daredevil revival.

1 Bring Back Daredevil On Netflix

Daredevil

In the end, the potentially simplest play would be to bring Marvel’s Daredevil back to Netflix. Fans have already taken to starting petitions and posting on social media to #SaveDaredevil, now that the character rights are up and it’s possible for Marvel to have a fresh start with the same old show. The first three seasons were largely well-received, and so having a fourth season in the same spot may not be a bad idea. If the other options don’t pan out, Daredevil could potentially stay right at home on Netflix.
