Make way for the Celestials. At Disney's D23 Expo, Marvel Studios showed off its upcoming slate of films with new artwork. Amongst heroes like Doctor Strange, Valkyrie and Thor, a Celestial looms in the background.

The Celestials have been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now. They were introduced in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, in the scene where the Collector showed Star-Lord and his team how the Power Stone works (as pictured above). Further, the mining colony Knowhere resides in the severed head of a Celestial. However, a living Celestial has not been seen in the MCU's present day.

That may change with Marvel's Eternals. Following Eternals' official announcement at Comic-Con International in San Diego, a promotional poster for the film surfaced online. The promo poster features four Celestials standing mighty on a desert planet in front of a starry background, each sporting a different look and color scheme. This confirms the film will deal with the Celestials in some capacity, though no further details are known at this time.

The D23 banner offers a new look at the Celestials. It appears that this particular Celestial was not included on the Eternals promotional poster. Further, it stands next to a mysterious character, who may be a Watcher or perhaps even Eternity. Seeing as they both appear on this D23 banner, more information may become available during the convention this weekend.

Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, Eternals stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh and Angelina Jolie as Thena. The film arrives in theaters on November 6, 2020.
