Claire Voyant -- the original Golden Age incarnation of Black Widow -- is now available as a playable character in the mobile fighting game Marvel: Contest of Champions.

Created by George Kapitan and Harry Sahle, Claire Voyant first appeared in 1940's Mystic Comics #4, which was published the Timely Comics - the company that would later become Atlas Comics and, eventually, Marvel Comics. The more famous Natasha Romanoff version of Black Widow did not debut until 1964, meaning Claire pre-dates her by a considerable margin.

In Contest of Champions, the original Black Widow has a special ability called "Death Immunity," which kicks in when the character receives damage that would knock her out. Rather than actually be knocked out, her "Death Touch" ability is consumed instead, giving her a Death Immunity Buff. This buff -- as the name implies -- prevents death and restores about 18 percent of Claire's max health over four seconds. More information regarding the character's abilities, stats and backstory can be found below.

Claire Voyant was a spirit medium who communicated with the dead through supernatural means. Killed by a client in a job gone wrong, Voyant is sent to Hell where Satan gives her the ability to kill with a single touch, sending her back to Earth to avenge her own death. After avenging her murder, Voyant returns to Satan who, no longer content to wait for evil souls to die a natural death, charges her with bringing more souls to him.
