With the return of the Fantastic Four to the Marvel Universe, it seemed inevitable that the First Family of Superheroes would start appearing in other media, including the Future Fight mobile game. Now, the Marvel Contest of Champions mobile game has recruited Ben Grimm, a.k.a. the Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing, into its ranks, with other characters from the series set to follow.

The character will be part of an event quest called "This Man...This Monster," named after one of the Fantastic Four's most famous stories. Created by the legendary duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, The Thing first appeared in the pages of Fantastic Four # 1 back in 1961 and went onto become the breakout character of the title, garnering two spinoff titles with Marvel Two-in-One and a self-titled solo series.

The character's in-game bio gives fans a quick recap of his origin:

Benjamin Grimm, also known as "Thing," served as the pilot on the starship expedition led by Reed Richards. During the voyage, the ship encountered unprecedented levels of radiation, granting the crew extraordinary powers. Ben gained incredible physical strength, and his body was covered in a flexible, rock-like hide. After returning to earth, the team banded together to form the Fantastic Four.

While it will take a while for the rest of the FF to join the game, fans of The Thing will be overjoyed to know that the tough-talking superhero will join his fellow Marvel heroes in the game. When players pick The Thing, they'll know that it's clobberin' time for their opponents!
