WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Avengers #52 by Jason Aaron, Juan Frigeri, David Curiel, and VC's Cory Petit, now on sale from Marvel Comics

The Marvel Universe is absolutely full of powerhouse characters with amazing abilities such as the Miracle Man, the Sentry, the Silver Surfer, and plenty of others. But one of these demi-gods, Starbrand, has a unique ability that makes her adaptation to the MCU and other popular mediums problematic. Her show of power in Avengers #52 confirmed just how powerful she is and set her up as a multiversal benchmark going forward. It remains to be seen how Marvel uses the character going forward.

While in deep space, Suzanne Selby ended up imbued with the cosmic power of the Starbrand. This was then passed down to her daughter Brandy -- who was taken in by the Avengers following Suzanne's death. Despite only being born in Avengers #30, she's gone through a radical set of changes by the events of Avengers #52. During the Heroes Reborn event, she was raised by Rocket Raccoon and Groot and received the full power of the Starbrand herself. Thanks to them, the infant grew into an innately powerful and volatile little girl. When reality was reset, Brandy kept her advanced age and new-found control over her powers. The Avengers have done their best to raise her right ever since, but things have been further complicated by the assault from the multiversal Masters of Evil.

Visiting the home of her mother, Starbrand is caught by surprise alongside Captain America and Captain Marvel. The Black Skull and Ghost Goblin prove to be very dangerous, coming close to killing the heroes. Instead, Starbrand is able to defuse the situation by diluting a bomb meant for the heroes. During the process, Starbrand seemingly aged up again -- this time into an apparently healthy young woman. It's a serious twist, and will likely only increase Starbrand's potential power.

The Starbrand is one of Marvel's most powerful forces, imbuing people with enough energy to stand up against the likes of even the Beyonder. It would turn someone into a genuine powerhouse on a galactic scale. The Starbrand has been shown to be a major force in the build-up to stories like the 2015 version of Secret Wars. As such, it's worth wondering when such a character could make the leap to the MCU. The Starbrand would more or less overwhelm everything that's appeared in the MCU up to this point save perhaps the Celestials. But the sheer power of the Starbrand might also be why Brandy (or even the previous Starbrand, Kevin Connor) can't -- and shouldn't -- make an appearance in the MCU. If she did make the move to live-action in her new form, Brandy would be a genuine gamechanger in terms of power.

A common complaint about characters with too much power is that it robs the story of tension. The Starbrand is one of the best examples of in the Marvel character pantheon, as the Starbrand is powerful enough to even make the multiverse's most dangerous foes take pause. Their power levels more or less make any problem easily solvable. There is little tension to be had when Starbrand is able to control their power, making them more powerful than entire Avengers rosters. Starbrand might take things too far for the current MCU, which is only now fully embracing a multiversal scale. With the Marvel heroes forced to confront universal stakes with just their wits and limited power, giving the MCU heroes someone of Starbrand's caliber might make things too easy -- and boring for the audience.
