In the Marvel Universe, mutants are the next stage of human evolution. Their powers trigger at puberty and sometimes, they can be quite uncontrollable. Humans hate and fear them, constantly building new death machines to keep them at bay. Charles Xavier had a dream, though, one of peaceful co-habitation with the human race and started the X-Men, a group dedicated to protecting mutants and humans.

However, for the next evolution of humanity, a lot of mutants have very similar powers. There are telepaths galore, all kinds of people with super strength, and much, much more. This list is going to run down some of those mutants with similar powers.

10 Magneto And Polaris

Magneto and Polaris are both mutant masters of magnetism. Ideologically, they couldn't have been more different over the years, although recently, Magneto has lightened up his stance on mutant supremacy. With their powers, they can control metal and the Earth's electromagnetic fields.

The similarity in their powers comes from the fact that they are father and daughter. For years, it was suspected that they were related, but wasn't confirmed in the comics until the 00s. That said, they still don't have an exactly close relationship.

9 Wolverine And Sabretooth

Wolverine and Sabretooth have been bitter enemies for years. The two have tangled multiple times over the decades, fighting bloody battles. Sabretooth takes a certain glee in making Wolverine's life terrible, going so far as to attack him on his birthday every year.

The two both share animalistic super senses, powerful healing factors, and claws. The only differences being that Wolverine's claws come out of the backs of his hands, while Sabretooth's come from his fingertips and Wolverine having an adamantium skeleton.

8 Daken And X-23

Daken is Wolverine's son. His mother was killed by the Winter Soldier and Wolverine left him behind, causing Daken to hate him and go after him. X-23 is a female clone of Wolverine. Both of them have taken his place as Wolverine, Daken in Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers and X-23 after Logan died.

The two share powerful healing factors, super senses, and claws, with two coming out of the backs of their hands. Their third claws are in different places, with Daken's coming from the back of his wrist, while X-23's come out of her feet. Daken also has an added ability of pheromone manipulation, but otherwise, they have the exact same abilities.

7 Morph And Mystique

Shapeshifting is a useful power for an assassin like Raven Darkholme, the woman known as Mystique. She can mimic anyone, getting into anywhere she needs to get into. Morph was a member of the X-Men in the hellish Age Of Apocalypse before being rescued from that reality and joining the Exiles, jaunting around the multiverse with various alternate reality X-Men.

The big difference in their powers is that Morph will use his shapeshifting powers in more humorous ways than Mystique ever would, transforming into all kinds of shapes in order to entertain himself and others. There's no doubt that Mystique could do such things, though, she just chooses not to.

6 Elizabeth Braddock and Kwannon

Elizabeth Braddock was a British telepath and member of the X-Men. After the X-Men entered the Siege Perilous, she lost her memory and was taken by the Hand, where her mind was placed in the body of the assassin Kwannon and vice versa. Kwannon would come to the X-Men later before succumbing to the Legacy Virus and eventually being resurrected, after which the two would switch back to their original bodies.

Both of them are powerful telepaths and each uses those powers in similar ways, down to manifesting psychic blades when they were in opposite bodies. Braddock has become Captain Britain and Kwannon has taken the Psylocke name for herself, each a part of the nation of Krakoa.

5 Cable And X-Man

Cable was born Nathan Summers, son of Cyclops and Jean Grey clone Madeleine Pryor. X-Man is Nate Grey, created in the Age Of Apocalypse with genes from that universe's Cyclops and Jean Grey. Both of them came from the machinations of their reality's Mister Sinister, as Sinister in the 616 wanted to see how powerful the child of Cyclops and Jean Grey would be, so he created a clone of the thought dead Grey and AoA Sinister wanted a secret weapon against Apocalypse.

The only difference between them is Cable's techno-organic virus. Cable has to use a lot of his powers to keep it at bay, otherwise, he would be just as powerful as X-Man.

4 Banshee And Siryn

Sean Cassidy is the Irish mutant known as Banshee and has a supersonic scream. He can use it to generate concussive blasts and fly. His daughter Teresa has the same powers as him and they would both join up with the X-Men, Banshee on the main team, while Siryn mostly gravitated towards X-Force and X-Factor.

Banshee would be killed by Vulcan, the third Summers brother, but be resurrected, while Siryn would fight with alcoholism before the two were reunited on Krakoa, joining with the rest of the mutant race in celebration of their newfound home.

3 Sebastian Shaw And Strong Guy

Sebastian Shaw and Strong Guy couldn't be more different in a lot of ways. Shaw is a leader of the Hellfire Club and owner of Shaw Industries, while Guido Carosella worked as a bodyguard for Lila Cheney before joining X-Factor as their resident, well, strong guy. Shaw was always villain, serious to a fault, while Guido was much more fun-loving and flippant.

However, both of them have the mutant ability to convert kinetic energy to strength, meaning the more they get hit, the stronger they get. Guido has shown a limit to this, though, as he's had a heart attack from absorbing too much kinetic energy, while Shaw has shown no limit to his absorption.

2 Apocalypse And Genesis

Apocalypse is one of the first mutants, born in ancient Egypt. He has a wide array of powers, including super strength and durability, complete control over his molecular structure, telepathy and telekinesis, the ability to generate and manipulate energy, and much more. He would also gain a suit of Celestial armor, making him even more deadly.

Genesis is a clone of Apocalypse, giving him all the same powers as his genetic sire. However, he doesn't have the same level of control over those abilities or the Celestial armor. He also doesn't share Apocalypse's ultra Darwinist view of the world, having been raised in virtual reality to be a hero and joining the X-Men. Of course, even Apocalypse is now an ally of the X-Men, so maybe he'll teach Genesis some things about the powers they share.

1 Professor X And Jean Grey

Professor X is the best telepath on Earth. He has a wide range of mental abilities, allowing him to do nearly anything with his powerful mutant mind. He's the founder of the X-Men and de facto leader of the mutant race in general. He's helped countless mutants over the years and with the founding of the mutant nation of Krakoa, he's given mutants a new home.

Jean Grey was his first student and has been widely considered the second most powerful telepath of them all. The big difference between the two is that Jean has shown a greater faculty with telekinesis than Xavier and, of course, that Jean is sometimes hosting the near-omnipotent Phoenix Force.
