Arriving in April, the series will follow an elite squadron of TIE Fighter pilots known as Shadow Wing, who have been assembled to protect Imperial interests following the Galactic Empire's defeat at the hands of the Rebel Alliance in Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter will be written by Jody Houser, who has previously penned numerous other Star Wars comics for Marvel, such as Star Wars: Thrawn, the comic book adaptation of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and numerous titles under the Star Wars: Age of Republic banner.

The series will also feature art from Rogê Antônio (X-Men: Red, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey), among other acclaimed artists, including cover art from the team of Giuseppe Camuncoli and Elia Bonetti (Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Lord of the Sith).

Additionally, Star Wars: TIE Fighter will take place in the same time of Alexander Freed's upcoming Star Wars novel Alphabet Squadron, effectively making it a part of a multi-platform crossover between Marvel Comics and Del Rey Books that will provide a look at the fallout of the Galactic Civil War from both sides of the conflict. It has also been confirmed that Alphabet Squadron will be the first entry in a trilogy of new novels.
