Marvel Comics has introduced hundreds of characters that have been adored by fans, both heroes and villains. Many of these characters have been featured in films or TV shows over the past years, growing in popularity around the world. Among all of the iconic heroes, there have been quite a few sillier characters to join in on the action.

Some characters have really cool powers or mythos surrounding them, but they just need a new updated look to fit in with the popular heroes. Whether it is a new costume or an entirely new name and design, these characters need to be redone to fight alongside the Avengers. Here are 10 of the silliest Marvel heroes that deserve a badass remake.

10 Frog-Man

Frog-Man is a very silly hero that was first a fan of other heroes like Spider-Man. This goofy hero has no real superpowers, but his father was a scientist, and he has modified some inventions to make a suit that allows him to jump and bounce like a frog. His father went on to use his inventions to become a supervillain.

Frog-Man dresses in an all-green suit with a silly looking frog mask, clumsily trying to fight crime with the heroes he idolizes. With a full re-do, this character has some potential to be among the rest of Marvel's heroes.

9 3D-Man

This character has a retro look and design that is just a bit too goofy to be taken seriously, but the origin of the hero is quite unique and interesting. The character was created through two brothers, where one brother was a pilot and seemingly died in a crash with a Skrull starship.

The surviving brother learned he could summon a 3D superpowered version of his brother by concentrating hard enough. The character is a bit complex compared to other Marvel heroes, but there is definitely enough there for a much-needed remake of this unique hero.

8  Maggot

This interesting mutant was nearly recruited by Magneto to fight against the X-Men. However, Maggot chose to join the heroes instead. His abilities are truly unique, he can send two giant maggots from within his body to eat anything that stands in the way of their path.

This power actually comes in handy because these bugs can chew through metal, brick, or just about any other obstacle. This hero just needs a new name and a new look to keep up with the modern X-Men, but his powers are one of a kind and they do help out the team in unexpected ways.

7 Slapstick

Slapstick is definitely one of the weirdest characters in Marvel Comics. This wacky character has the ability of warping reality like a cartoon, giving him superhuman durability, reflexes, and strength. Slapstick has a wild hairstyle and a brightly colored outfit, adding to the cartoon appearance of his powers.

While this character may be goofier than most, there is definitely a way to update his design so he can fight alongside other Marvel heroes. There is definitely a way that Slapstick could fight alongside Deadpool, matching his witty and comical style.

6 Great Lakes Avengers

The Great Lakes Avengers, or GLA for short, is a unique team of heroes that appear to be a silly group of misfits that have banded together to fight crime. Led by Mr.Immortal, this strange team of heroes has crossed paths with Deadpool, Squirrel Girl, and the West Coast Avengers.

Mr.Immortal is a mutant who resurrects every time he dies and he has a high level of athletic agility. The GLA has some interesting abilities, but they just do not have the intimidating look and power of any of the other superpowered teams. With a bit of updating, this team could have some potential that is worth another shot.

5 Throg

This superpowered amphibian has a backstory that is both incredibly strange and also heartbreaking. While at first glance, a frog wielding the powers of Thor is definitely silly, the Frog of Thunder actually has a unique past that led to him being worthy enough to lift the hammer.

After tragically losing his family, Simon Walterson seeks out mystics in his despair. A witch turns the grieving man into a frog, where he assimilates into a community of other frogs. After stumbling on a broken piece of Mjolnir, Throg is able to lift the piece of the hammer and uses his new powers to valiantly defend his clan.

4 Doorman

Doorman

First off, Doorman is definitely a name that needs a rework. For a while, this hero traveled with the GLA, helping them fight crime in their unique way. Doorman has the ability to use his own body as a door to pass through other walls or barriers. It works similarly to teleportation, but just through one wall at a time.

While this hero's abilities seem limited, there are many cool ways to fight crime with the power to create portals through walls. Doorman definitely needs a new name and he needs to join the right team, but his power is useful enough to be a legitimate hero.

3 Starfox

Starfox surrounded by the other avengers

Starfox is a very powerful space-traveling hero, who can hold his own against some of the strongest characters in the Marvel universe. Despite his silly appearance, Starfox's abilities are no joke. He has the abilities of flight, superhuman durability, strength, and the unique power to psychically control the emotions of other people.

This powerful character grew up as a brother to the cosmic villain Thanos, but when the Mad Titan went on his conquest, Starfox chose to pursue a career as a hero instead. His overall appearance is a bit comical, but with a solid remake, he could easily join the most popular heroes.

2 Howard The Duck

The film adaptations have not helped this character escape his goofy premise. Howard the duck is originally from another dimension, but he gets trapped on the version of Earth that is inhabited by humans.

Nearly all of his stories have been comedies, but this character has the potential to be taken more seriously in the Marvel universe. While being a talking and thinking duck is a silly premise, Howard is a smart detective and has a good heart despite his seemingly grim demeanor. With a few tweaks, Howard the duck could definitely be a modern comic book character that fits in with the rest despite being a duck.

1 Doop

Doop has been around for quite some time, only taking a background role in most of the stories he appears in. Doop's origin is not entirely clear, but he has been hanging around the X-Men for a while. He is a green blob that has the ability to fly, morph into different shapes, store items and even people inside of himself, and he is highly malleable so he can fit past any obstacle. Doop is always used in a comical way, but it would be awesome to see this character redone and taken more seriously as a valuable addition to the X-Men.
