After more than fifty years of ongoing continuity, Marvel has pretty much done it all. Superheroes have fought against costumed villains, giant robots, deep sea monsters, aliens, and even alternate reality versions of themselves. Often, they've engaged in team-ups to achieve victory, making the superhero team-up something of a classic motif in the genre.

By now, there are even classic team-ups, like Cable and Deadpool or Wolverine and whatever teenage girl hero is popular at the time. Of course, it is always exciting to see a new pair of heroes as they work together for the first time. Here are ten amazing superhero team-ups that haven't happened yet:

10 Kamala Khan & Punisher

Kamala Khan is one of the most popular characters of the last decade. The young hero has been an Avenger and a member of the Champions, living as the very embodiment of a hero. Punisher, meanwhile, has long walked the line between being a villain and an anti-hero, killing the bad guys because he believes some people need to die.

Punisher has a long history of being the loner who teams up with other dark brooding loners. However, Kamala's bubbly optimism would make for a dramatic contrast to Frank Castle's cutthroat nihilism. It is unlikely that Frank Castle will ever grow out of his ways, but a team-up would be a chance for Kamala to possibly grow up and learn a hard lesson or two.

9 Doctor Strange & Miles Morales

As the young Spider-Man who replaced Peter Parker in the Ultimate Universe before crossing over into the main Marvel Universe, Miles is the hero used to living life on the fringes of society. Like Kamala, he fought alongside the Avengers before joining the Champions. Then there is the master of the mystic arts, Doctor Strange, who is familiar with a different type of darkness, fighting black magic and generally keeping himself apart from the concerns of street level crime.

The two almost teamed up in the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but Strange was cut from the final story. It seems like a natural fit for these two to meet, as one brings a youthful, multiversally multicultural perspective while the other is older, wiser, and more mystically powerful but out of touch of the daily happenings of the world.

8 Ikari & Black Knight

While there have been numerous warriors to take up the mantle of the Black Knight, this title is carried along a lineage of knights descended from the first, who was a Knight of the Round Table. Dane Whitman, the modern-day version of the character, is a superhero whose weapon of choice, the Ebony Blade, is a cursed sword capable of cutting through anything. Ikari is a villain with similar martial arts training and abilities to Daredevil. While it seems like he may have been killed recently, that means little in the world of comics.

Little is known about Ikari's past. His villain status could be refined through exploring his background, making him an anti-hero, especially if he teams up with a character like Black Knight, who does the right thing while wielding a weapon that tempts him toward evil. Alternatively, a team-up could show why Black Knight is a hero while Ikari is perhaps beyond redemption.

7 Viv Vision & Deadpool

A relatively new character, Viv Vision is the daughter of Vision with all of his powers, struggling to balance her logical processes with human experiences. Then there is Deadpool. The internationally acclaimed Merc With A Mouth needs no introduction.

These two could not be more different. Viv is analytical, logical, and immune to most emotions. She is the ultimate straight (wo)man to Deadpool's wonky style of humor and illogical behavior. Whatever adventures they got up to would almost certainly be hilarious.

6 Magik & Excalibur

Excalibur is the superhero name used by Dr. Faiza Hussain, a British-Pakistani woman who has been magically chosen to wield the legendary sword from which she takes her name. As one of the darkest X-Men to ever be considered a hero, Magik has a sword of her own, the massively epic Soulsword which she manifested while trapped in the hellish dimension of Limbo.

Excalibur's background as a medical doctor and her natural leadership ability makes her an iconic hero, while Magik is the classic fallen hero who can never be redeemed but still tries to do the best she can. Their personalities and respective backgrounds are compatibly contrasted in a way that would make for an interesting narrative and possible long-term friendship.

5 Spider-Punk & Daredevil

Spider-Punk is one of the many Spider-Men from alternate dimensions. He defeated the police state of Norman Osborn and its fascistic symbiote V.E.N.O.M. shock troops with the sonic powers of anarchic punk music, weaponizing his electric guitar. He takes his moral code from anarchist philosophy. Daredevil's  uses extralegal violence as a superhero but as a lawyer he makes moral compromises within the court system's laws.

To Daredevil, Spider-Punk would be a reckless danger and irresponsible kid. In contrast, the anarchist arachnid would doubtlessly see Daredevil as a hypocrite for both supporting and subverting the legal system. The fact that both heroes care about helping the disenfranchised would give them common cause despite different beliefs.

4 Ironheart & Crimson Dynamo

The newest armor-clad superhero, Ironheart is the spiritual successor of Tony Stark who replaced him during the events of Secret Empire. She is a member of the Champions and a brilliant genius whose expertise is far beyond her years. While there have been numerous people to bear the name Crimson Dynamo, these mech-suited combatants are mostly relics of the Soviet era, their suits and ideologies both being from that time in history.

Given her age, Ironheart was born years after the last Soviet state fell. The Cold War little to her personally. Crimson Dynamo could be a mentor who offers greater perspective on history and different worldviews, while she could introduce him to a young futurist mindset.

3 Hercules & Kamala Khan

Hercules is lucky in that he is a figure from myth whose identity is (mostly) preserved in his comic book interpretation (though as in all things, Marvel has taken some creative license). Given Kamala Khan's traditional religious family background, but also her open-mindedness and her love of all things superhero-related, teaming up with a demigod from a pagan culture would be an interesting opportunity for her.

In all honesty, both of these characters are so virtuous and upbeat they would almost certainly get along. This seems like a situation where the would immediately bridge any cultural gaps, bonding over their shared love of helping others and living the superhero life to the fullest.

2 Aero & Storm

As one of the leaders of the X-Men, Storm is a force of nature, her leadership abilities and her powers of weather control making her one of the most important women in the Marvel Universe. Aero is a relatively new character who is a member of the Agents of Atlas. Known in her civilian life as Lei Ling, this Shanghai-based superhero has the ability to control wind and air.

Both characters have weather-based powers, but they use them very differently. Also, while Storm is an assertive woman who has learned not to trust authority, Aero is a much more passive character in interpersonal interactions. It seems like only a matter of time before these two team up.

1 Sword Master & Captain America

Another new hero, Sword Master uses an ancient magical sword, hence his name. He is a teenage boy with a lot to learn, but has shown himself to have a lot of grit and a willingness to take on supernatural threats. As for Captain America, the super soldier's name basically states who and what he is.

Part of what would make an interesting match between these two is that while Captain America has a long history of serving the national interests of the US, Sword Master is a Chinese hero. Of course, good deeds have no nationality. Rather, it is Cap's experience and place as a man out of time that would make his work alongside a kid like Sword Master interesting, especially given the out-of-time nature of his ancient weapon.
