T'Challa's next worst enemies are none other than the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Black Panther #13 by writer John Ridley (I Am Batman, The American Way) and artist Germán Peralta (Thanos, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is set to pit the titular hero against his fellow Avengers in what looks to be a fierce albeit not entirely unexpected battle. This shakeup comes on the heels of T'Challa being effectively exiled from Wakanda after losing his throne when a sprawling conspiracy of his own making was uncovered.

T'Challa Is King No More

Although T'Challa is no longer the king of Wakanda, he has found a place of leadership elsewhere as the recently reinstated chairman of the Avengers. Since taking on the job, Black Panther has led Earth's Mightiest Heroes against the interdimensional threat of the Colonialist. This has helped reaffirm T'Challa's place as one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but tensions with his fellow heroes are still high off the battlefield.

Apart from Steve Rogers' concerns about T'Challa stepping back into action without opening up about why he left Wakanda, things have been complicated by the other Captain America's attempts to operate in the region. When Sam Wilson took to Wakanda to investigate the machinations of White Wolf, he was given an exceptionally explosive greeting by Black Panther before the two faced off in brutal combat. Though no serious harm came to either hero, it added to the list of reasons T'Challa's fellow heroes aren't exactly willing to put their full faith in him.
