After teasing a major event involving Carnage in February, Marvel Comics has revealed Absolute Carnage, which will arrive in August from writer Donny Cates, artist Ryan Stegman and colorist Frank Martin.Marvel announced the event at C2E2 in Chicago before later sharing a press release for it online. The lead-up to the event will start in Spider-Man/Venom #1, which releases on March 5. The event itself will start in August, and it sounds absolutely massive.RELATED: Carnage Targets the Entire Marvel Universe in Venom TeaserThe publisher released a video on Twitter of Cates talking about the upcoming book and summarizing what it's about. “Cletus Kasady is back, and he is deadlier than he’s ever been,” Cates says. “ABSOLUTE CARNAGE encompasses every single character who has ever worn a symbiote and every symbiote that has ever been, going all the way back to when Peter found the black suit. Going from there to MAXIMUM CARNAGE to VENOMIZED to everything…everyone is a target.”

Cates also joked that he and Stegman believe that Absolute Carnage will out sell Jim Lee's X-Men #1, which is considered the best-selling comic book of all time with over 8.1 million copies sold.
